Maybe I'll actually make a post of things I know DID and maybe still DO contribute to actually Getting Better--in this case meaning increasing my capacity to "Do Things", "Do Things I Enjoy", and to enjoy when I "Do Things I Enjoy".
Adderall. It'd be funny and cynical to leave just this, but it's not actually the case.
Aspen. The cats have been a huge part of my life, but other than a dog being a different experience, she forces me to go outside regularly lol. It makes taking walks as a singular activity enjoyable again, or just gives a purpose to sitting outside. Going places is fun if I can take her, and she wants to go everywhere and do everything together lol.
Outdoor stuff in general is huge. Getting out of the house at all is so hard. I can barely wake up on a day that's not sunny, which probably speaks to how much it's necessary for mental health just to be outside in the sun. So things that facilitate this are the most helpful.
Plant stuff. We've never gotten anywhere near as far with our outdoor gardening plans and such as we want, but we've done some stuff. The biggest thing to me though was getting into identifying plants and learning foraging uses. I've hardly actually done jack shit with foraged stuff (though stuff has certainly been foraged. And takes up half of our spare room). However its been huge for building up the "excitement" capability. Learning to recognize a plant wherever I see it. Finding one for the first time I'd been hoping to see. Finding a plant I can't identify and learning it. Suddenly ditches and truckstops and overgrown places and little strips of woods feel like goldmines.
And then there's the excitement of the various uses--which, even if I don't always go through with, gets me happy about researching and learning in a way I haven't been for so long. Basket making from various grasses and vines, bast fibers (dogbane my beloved) which also involves processing things. I love processing. I love when there's creative parts of a craft as well as rote parts. Now I'm learning to spin--I didn't want to start with plant fibers that took so long to process before learning the basics, so now I'm also interested in fiber prep processes and clay and wood so I can make my own spindles, and and and...
Really so far this is more of a journey than a list, but that makes me more want to add stuff on
