She gave a polite nod and enjoyed her meal. “It’s alright, Seth. If he is a private man, much like myself, then I want to respect those wishes. No need to be down.” she forced herself to talk. If she was going to get along with them, she couldn’t afford to be mute. “You both are quite good cooks” she chuckled “I’m pretty impressed. Milord cooks well too, but he can’t prepare food for all 50 of us and do his job.” She wiped her lip with a napkin, smiling at Andy. “Yes, Milord Plague Knight made sure he was ready for your care. I can tell you love him a lot already” she spoke softly to her, treating her kind.
“I see… is he afraid of what others would think?”
“To be fair, I need to prepare food for less than half that amount of people and Durin helps me. And even then, I don’t go on mess hall duty unless my workload isn’t overtaking my life. Which...isn’t too often. But thank you. And no, it’s not that the other staff would make fun of him for it aside from Dvalinn...” “And you too, Seth Wayland.” Dvalinn added. “...it’s just...he’s so overly self-conscious. It’s nothing to do with you.” He knew she was trying to be accommodating to Durin’s wishes, but he was still rather upset with his younger brother for so self-conscious to not try having dinner with her in the company of others. There was no talking save for eating until Lily talked to the small girl again, in the middle of carefully eating her salad. She paused, letting a bit of cabbage fall to the table and quickly claimed by Mossy.
“Mhmm...I-I love Mossy...Ummm...Miss...Lily? Umm...are you sad that Durin isn’t here?”
