Day 9 of @redthreaded #fallforcostume Is White This one was easy, to me, white is paper, the paper which holds the patterns, knitting and crochet, pre-cut, draft-at-home, illustrated, multi-size, modern, vintage, or antique, and the sources that help you pyt them together in a period appropriate fashion, or the magazines and newspapers that tell us what was in fashion when. Without paper all this would be much harder and the history of it all may just have disappeared, along with so many of the extant garments which simply were lost to time. But we have them, patterns over 100 years old, or people helping preserve the history by making patterns from extant garments like @theschoolofhistoricaldress1 , or redrawing antique and vintage patterns like @wearinghistory and others.
