being less than fond of heights DID A NUMBER ON ETHAN’S OPTIONS as far as travelling was concerned. most trainers could simply rely on the assistance of a flying pokemon to get from POINT A to POINT B —— the raven wasn’t nearly so fortunate. THANKFULLY , ETHAN WASN’T ESPECIALLY BOTHERED by the prospect of wandering about on foot. ( wandering, because there was no better word to describe his perpetually aimless meandering. ) it was relaxing. kept him preoccupied —— kept things from getting too stale.
... at least until THE SKY OPENED UP WITH AN UNEXPECTED DOWNPOUR and ethan promptly remembered why traveling exclusively on foot kind of sucked.
thankfully, one small mercy presented itself IN THE FORM OF A NEARBY TREE . the trainer wasted no time scrambling underneath its protective canopy of leaves. it wasn’t the perfect shield against the elements —— not when the rain was coming down so fiercely IT WAS DIFFICULT TO SEE MORE THAN A FEW FEET in front of his face. still, it was better than nothing, and ethan quietly resigned himself to waiting around until the weather decided to clear up. ( or he grew frustrated enough to do something reckless. ) however, as the raven SQUINTED OUT INTO THE GLOOM , a familiar splash of vibrant red managed to catch his attention.
silver. well, this was awkward. ( what were the odds? ) still, ethan was nothing if not A SUCKER FOR CAUSING TROUBLE and perhaps there was one tiny scrap of empathy drifting about in his jaded excuse for a heart. ( nah. definitely the first one. ) cupping both hands around his mouth, the trainer called out, ❝ OOOIII, SILVER! y’know you’re gonna LOOK LIKE A DROWNED RATTATA soon if you don’t get under cover! ❞
it wasn’t exactly an offer, but that suited ethan just fine. either way, HE REFUSED TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE if the redhead decided to be stubborn and go wandering off in the rain.
