Mom: so how’s the new movie.
Me: I don’t know half of the people said it was shit and half said it was pretty good
mom: oh okay.
Me: by half I mean I talked to two people and one said it was bad and one said it was good.
Mom: -_-
My mom’s memorial service is today, and I found out that a large portion of my dad’s side of the family plans on coming to the house afterward
Is it wrong that I DON’T want them to? That I don’t want a bunch of people (family or not, there’s going to be at least half a dozen people there) over after an already mentally exhausting day? If anyone I just want her brother and wife over, I’m good with just them, because there’s a REASON for them to come.
I’m sure I’ll... possibly enjoy myself when they’re here. Right now though I just wanted to be left alone with my dad and my sister and not have to be around a lot of people more than I have to today.
When you finally venture out of your room and you’re chilling, but you hear a key turn in the door:
I hate having to deal with tradepeople.
We have an aborist / tree looper coming today to sort out some trees - at the front of our house they’re interfering with the power line that runs to our house; and some trees in the backyard need sorting out - all beyond our abilities due to heights etc.
It’s kind of the wrong time of year but it needs to be done.
But yes, I get to confirm with the guy what and where to prune. I mean, the husband has already spoken with him and he’s been here to do the quote. It’s not a class thing either - my husband was a tradesperson, so was my dad. And it wouldn’t matter if the aborist was female (we’ve had female electricians here before - I still had the same dread).
I think it’s a people thing. Maybe I hate having to deal with people.
I’m bored and tired. I’m so happy I’m actually home now
30 minutes into a party and I'm already super done.
