Clown Corps

Basically, a superhero comic, but all the main characters are some kind of literal clown. Focusing on a Burglar-turned-Trainee named Mary McBell after she botches a casino robbery, it focuses on the Corps going up against an evil clown organization called the Shadow Circus.

I quite like it! but that's only based on a few pages I've seen and has some Spinnerette-like vibes I can't quite shake off. I'd recommend it either way, it feels like it's riffable.

There's something uncanny about "clowns but I drew them sexy ;)" type drawing philosophy. Like clowns are inherently anti-sexy. They just can't be made sexy no matter how hard you try. If it has Spinnerette-like wibes, do you mean that characters are constantly doing pop culture references and meta jokes? Or that the characters are stuck on never developing as characters? Or is it just the usual "deconstructed super heroines" vibe. Either way, the art style is competent, the premise sounds like it could be cheesy or entertaining. I am def giving it a shot.

"Gon' E Chuu"

A tumblr comic about rubber hose animals that work as actors in cartoons. Main character is an alligator ex-antagonist star and it has a lot of vore, but also tries to tackle social issues (?). Seems to have lots of dry stretches and the style is trying to be rubber hose, but is too stiff looking to me to hit the right mark...

Where is the link to this? Googling this is impossible Also, the name sounds extremely close to that certain other comic on the banlist, how come they didn't see that?

Ruby Quest

Nan Quest

(Comics done by this artist tend to be much darker or suggestive than they initially appear due to the simple style)

- The first is a series that just recently wrapped up about a homeless girl, Boxdog moving into and living with a rat named scrimmage and a less-anthro rat named Cancer by Trading sexual favors and cleaning duties for living in scrimmages house. this is a pretty depressing - if straightforward one, that wraps up pretty well, all things considered.

- Ruby Quest and Nan Quest are 4chan - based audience participation comic/collective Quest game comics. VERY loosely based around Animal Crossing - In the first, a rabbit named Ruby wakes up in an underwater complex and survives monsters and puzzles alongside a cat named Tom. Nan Quest is more a spiritual successor where a goat electrician, Nan, visits a monster infested hotel that is being corrupted by dark powers for some ritual going on. Both I believe have been archived.

Ruby Quest and Nan Quest are pretty good horror comics from what I hear. I think they're probably a bit too competent for the blog. I think the other one could be riffed. It's trying to go for "substance over style" approach where the main goal is the story and plight of the characters as opposed to art. These things are either good, or really pretentious.

Wishes and Tree of Life

Two equally...bad, ongoing fantasy comics by the same artist. Wishes is a meandering erotic comic about a djinn and a theif hooking up. Not sure if that's really all that readily available since I believe a lot is locked behind Patreon(?) I've not delved into it at all beyond some skimming, and it looks dumb.

Tree of Life is the more interesting one about a dying fantasy world being threatened by a corruption, and a band of misfits being chosen as new guardian knights to stop it. You know it's bad when the supposed Big Good of this comic supernaturally blinds a guy for trying to grab a knight's sash, tosses him in jail, then decides to make him a knight anyway the following day...

All chapters of Wishes are actually on the same suspicious site as Monster Girl Academy chapters so riffing them won't be a problem. Tree of Life is already on the rifflist and it's a real shame because the Tree's design looks very good.

Dangerously Chloe

A spinoff of that monster girl academy webcomic Eerie Cuties by Gisèle Lagacé, about the titular Succubus character (the one who considers themselves unappealing, then goes through "Succubus puberty" and negates all that insecurity all at once) she leaves that comic to go to a different school in hell. It's more or less the same comic as Eerie Cuties was, just with Chloe as a lead.

GAH! I forgot there was another Monster Girl Academy on my rifflist, thankfully Kraw's nowhere near it. This will probably be added right next to Eerie Cutes like I usually do with interconnected spinoffs.

A Mayan centric comic I found on deviantart about a restaurant in the supernatural realm. Lotsa nonsense goes on like a weird obnoxious green alien that eventually gets clones, and spider people with arms where their boobs would be.

The creator also made Rayah, which is a gag a day comic about a Mary Sue Genie who causes wishes to go wrong, based on submitted wishes. It actually also has, something, of a story, but not at the moment.

Anything involving mayan culture interests me. but this sounds bizarre. Once again artstyle is one of those artstyles where there isn't anything wrong with it but it still weirds me out.

I haven’t read Spinerette, but if you meant to ask if the character Werewolf of London, Ontario is named after the song, I think it’s likelier that his name is instead a reference to the classic horror movie by Universal (the “joke” being that they both refer to a different London).

Dang. That’s a heck of a story.

This discussion of “traditional werewolf vs. furry werewolf” reminds me of these two memes. Kind of opposite auras to each other, but mildly relevant to the conversation of how furries perceive werewolves, since it gives us their perspective on that.

Yeah. Though Ask the Werewolves does feature downsides to being a werewolf later on at least, even if it’s not in a major way.

And the werewolves in both of those memes still look better than the ones in the comic.
