while they were normally so careful to not go against what people would want them to do, when laura lee set their mind on something it was exceptionally hard to talk them down. there was exceptions to the incessant need to be liked, and this was just one of those times. it was a good attempt, lottie the one person who laura lee would always listen to, but they’d barely registered who was speaking -- just that they were trying to stop them. "this isn't just about you. it's about what's best for all of us." there was a sense of urgency behind their words, hands tensing then relaxing, stopping from their rush to look at her. lottie was normally so calming for laura lee, the exception to everything that was around all of them and this lightness in their life. but the weight of what they were trying to pull off got in the way, and all that happened was their eyes softened before they tried to push past her. “we all die if we don’t at least try, don’t you get that?”
