Years ago Maria realized Anton didn’t want kid. So when she first fell pregnant with a little boy she send him away to an orphanage in Esperanza. Before leaving him tho she gave him a name. Dani. She never told Anton. Deciding to keep it to herself. One day Anton asked for a child. An heir. She didn’t hesitate to get pregnant again rather than tell him the truth.
Years later Dani is on a boat with his friend. He unknowingly helped his own little brother on the boat. Which lead to Anton. His father boarding the ship.
Halfway through Anton’s speech Anton makes eye contact with Dani and his words slow to a stop as he stares Dani down.
He doesn’t realize it yet who Dani is but he knows one thing. This man looks exactly like him as a young man. It took him off guard but he soon went back to his speak and left the boat. He felt as though he should have taken the young man which but decided not to in the end.
Dani survives the boat massacre and joins the rebellion. Unaware of the damages done by Anton seeing his face. While fighting for the rebellion Dani is kidnapped a few times.
Anton later discovered Dani was his child. Maria had finally confessed after he had brought up the resemblance. He was so close to killing her then and there especially for how nonchalant she acted about it. He grows angry and shouted at her. He truly believes he just killed one of his own.
The relief he felt when he found out Dani was the one doing damage was huge. Immediately he had solders find Dani and kidnapped him. From then on Dani was forced into the Castillo home. His name officially changed. And he was being taught to trust Anton and Diego. Respect and love them
