Been thinking a lot lately about Tarn under the specific context of him being a warborn specifically modeled after Megatronus Prime visually (because of Megatron's own obsession with his idol),

and Tarn just gets so achingly jealous of Megatronus as a long dead concept in a big "the clone/replacement vs the original they'll never meet" type mindset, to the point it drives him to be a worse and worse person to mimic a mech whose cultural memory has already been twisted to the point of absurdity.

Megatronus Prime headcanons for Rift

FIRST AND FOREMOST, HE IS NOT EVIL! His title as The Fallen comes from the battle that finally did him in, but when the Quintessons took over Cybertron and rewrote history, Megatronus was conflated with Liege Maximo and Onyx Prime as Mortilus of the guiding hand, and unfortunately demonised. Megatron adopting his name and face for the Decepticon movement did not help at all

When faced with social situations outside of any fighting, Megatronus is actually just very socially awkward and relies on Solus to do most of the socialising

He drinks very light brews of Energon because the strong stuff would react very badly with his eternally burning insides

His furnace-like interior acts as a purgatory for corrupt sparks. He will use his Spark Fuser staff to extract an enemy’s spark and fuse it to his own, powering himself up while the corruption is burned away. Then, the spark returns to the AllSpark where it can be reborn once more

He doesn’t have biological children and that’s a shame because he’d be an absolutely doting, if not overly anxious, father to his kids. Because he’s constantly blown to bits and having to reassemble himself, he’d be hyper-vigilant and spend most of his time shielding his kids from any and every possible danger. The mental image of him patching up his kids and trying to put on a brave face accompanied by awkwardly flapping his giant wasp wings? Precious beyond compare. He would talk to his sparkling in a classic Waspinator manner - talking to them in the third person: “Universe as been unkind to Waspinator, but Waspinator will not let Universe be unkind to sparklings.” [x]
