A British Pattern 1845 Infantry Officer’s Sword and an Indian Tulwar

Accounts of historical events written by participants offer a unique intimacy, and I find the mundane details of daily life just as interesting as the sweeping main events. This quick, interesting read gives just that - although it is rather quaint at times (and perhaps it’s the writer in me but there are so many mistakes in the text I found it annoying.) Still, the book is certainly worth a read if you’re interested in Victorian military history and it offers interesting insights into the Mutiny’s causes and progression.
