#How to Win at Checkers (Every Time)#Ingkarat Damrongsakkul#Thira Chutikul#*films#*edits#the ~present day stuff was#eh#(but thankfully short)#the flashbacks made me cry#when I first read abt this I was under the impression that Ek's storyline wasn't focused on his gayness#which ig is true in the sense that at the core this movie is a film about brothers#but I appreciated that it wasn't a ~he's gay if you squint kind of char#it's an integral part of his character#and the film shows this throughout#anw...#I loved the filming & characterization (w some really nice acting moments as well)#even if it's a little unpolished/imperfect#& I'm bummed I gotta add it to the list of films w gay chars that have sad endings#it's still worth a watch tho I think
