Day 4: AU Day Clarke/Anya Zombie Apocalypse AU The outbreak happened a few months ago. Luckily enough, both Clarke and Anya were hanging out that day in a library on the edge of the town, so they were able to see the zombies creeping in slowly to the town, and were able to run back to Clarke’s house and grab a few things. Guns, food, water, and as many clothes and blankets as they could fit into two backpacks. They didn’t have time to even say goodbye to their loved ones before running fast as hell in the other direction. They’ve been on the move for a while now, trying to find any sort of save haven among burnt-down and infested areas. Food has also been harder to come by, since sometimes only a stray zombie would bite an animal and infect that, so not even wild deer made good food now (luckily, they could catch some fish and squirrels if they tried hard enough). They’ve both grown used to covering themselves in mud to mask their sent from zombies, disgusting as it may be. Anya also managed to find a small tent one night (granted there was a dead body inside, so moving that out was gross), which is where they currently tried to live. Clarke had brought a map that she found, and she assumed that they were now on the outskirts of Georgia. Luckily they found a huge piece of farmland, and set their tent in the middle of it. It wasn’t much protection at first, but they started building up wooden walls around the general area (they rummaged stores from place to place, which is how they also managed to grab a hammer and nails), and with three foot high walls, they felt at least a little safer at night. They had also made sure to include the burnt down barn they had found in their small camp, figuring that if their tent was inside that, it would add even more safety. They figured they would get over the lingering smell of smoke that seemed to stick to the sides of their tent because of it. Even though they had safety measures put in place, they still alternated sleeping shifts because Anya figured you could never be too cautious. However, two days ago a stranger had managed to locate their camp, and wanted to know if she could join. “Listen, I’ve got no place to go. My family is gone, friends ran off early on, and my friend I was travelling with just died two days ago. I’ve got a little food and water, and I could definitely help build walls if you need,” She had offered. Clarke and Anya had looked at each other and shared a look of agreement. “You can join us. What’s your name?” “My name is Lexa.”
