The story follows two characters. A woman named Castel, and a young girl she's taking care of named Mia.
Castel is (was) a Hunter assigned a high-stakes job to find and kill a monster called a Harvester that threatened to end all of humanity if left unchecked. This Harvester turns out to be a young Lux girl, Mia, and Castel isnt about to murder some poor kid just because her boss told her to, and she also feels some strange connection to this kid... So, she takes Mia and goes on the run, in a poorly thought out and ill-fated attempt to give Mia a better chance at life.

- Hunters are like a military force for demons in the Underworld. There are different ranks and branches of Hunters, such as Commander, Scout, and just a normal Hunter. Castel was a high-ranking normal Hunter, not quite a commander but she could fill that role if needed.
- Harvesters are shadow creatures that latch onto their victims like a parasite, feeding off of the victim's negativity untill they eventually perish usually via suicide. Demons/Hunters have many ways of handling and eliminating harvesters before they become an issue; humans dont.
They were born from another species of demons called the Lux. The legend goes that one Lux woman once tried to obtain godhood, but her soul was split in half as a punishment for her hubris; one half went on to become the Harvesters, infecting the other Lux untill they were all wiped out. The other half was lost and forgotten. Its said that if these two halves were to reunite, it would cause cause an apocalypse...

So Castel goes on the run with Mia, and now both of them have massive targets on their backs and almost every hunter wants Castel's head on a stick. She tries to hide and avoid hunters on her own but finds it nearly impossible, and after a run-in with some that came just a little too close for comfort, she decides to seek out some help.
enter a sorcerer woman named Avelyn. Avelyn agrees to help Castel in return for money and to let her study Mia, as she finds the girl's nature as a Lux/Harvester to be fascinating. She does this by altering and removing Castel from something called the Network.
- the Network is an interconnected web of magic linking all demons together via their souls. It contains all information one would want to know, including the current location of a person. Tampering with it is very dangerous and very much illegal for anybody that isn't permitted to do so, as one small mistake could affect hundreds or even thousands of demons. Avelyn is not permitted but she does it anyway.
Avelyn is one such demon who has managed to successfully remove herself from the network entirely, and remove all trace of her existence in the process; on paper, she no longer exists, and she uses her knowledge to help others achieve the same.
Now some yappage about the antagonists!!
While Castel and Mia are being hunted by many hunters, there are two main ones that do most of the work; Ray, and Ivory. ill start with Ivory.
Ivory is a lesser kind of Hunter called a Scout, rather than being the one taking down targets and saving the world, shes the one that finds the targets in the first place, as well as any other information a Hunter may need to complete their hunt. Outwardly, she may appear as though she doesnt know what shes doing, but shes one of the best in her field of work. Just with some unconventional methods...
now, Ray is a Commander. A leader, and the one spearheading this operation. They are exceptional in their work, and the Underworld couldnt have asked for anyone better to find and eliminate this threat. only, Ray has history with Castel; Castel was a mentor to Ray, a mother figure almost... they cant let their emotions get in the way of their work. They need to complete this hunt, not just for their own sake but for the sake of hundreds, thousands of others. But at the same time, Castel was there for them when nobody else was, not even their own father.
So Castel and Mia, now with the help of Avelyn, can finally properly hide and keep Mia safe, and give her a better chance at life. Castel reunites with an old friend she knew as a Hunter, a woman named Amelia. Amelia had long since retired at that point, and while Castel's insietence on keeping the truth about her situation a secret does piss her off, she agrees to help keep her old friend safe regardless. Things are starting to look up finally!

Gwen - I have a lot of no sugar, low calorie, no preservatives, non processed, homemade cookies *she eats one, it crumbles and she looks like she's in pain eating it* there great and you can buy then now at any grocery store *sheds tear, they are so bad*
