Creating a charm bag that actually means something.
The other day, I decided to try my hand at making my own charm bag spell. Specifically, a money draw spell.
To create this charm bag, I went through all my witchcraft books for correspondences and wrote down things that appeared in more than one prosperity/wealth/money list. Afterwards, I went through the list and assigned my own interpretations to each component. Which items struck me as magically corresponding to money? If everyone says that cabbage draws money, but I don’t have any reason to think so, it’s not going to work in my spell.
Some items struck me as being magically significant, but I wasn’t sure why, so I went to wikipedia and read up on how the item is usually used. If I started making connections after that, I wrote it down. Anything that didn’t make sense to me, I struck from the list.
What was left was this:
a green pouch/bag
alfalfa (hay, not sprouts, though I bet they’d work)
lodestone (and fillings)
a coin (preferably silver-colored)
mint (which I ended up not using because I couldn’t find it at the store)
After I assembled everything, I set the bag in front of a new tealight, and let it burn out to confirm the spell. I plan on adding more fillings for the lodestone every now and then (probably every payday), and if I find some mint, I’ll toss that in as well. Now all I have to do is see if it helps.
I recently made a CAT! Protection Charm for my friend’s birthday, and then I made one for my own cat. Here’s what went into it:
A red bag (cuz red’s protective)
Tiger’s eye (gold) (cuz that’s the color of my cat’s eyes)
Amethyst (I read somewhere that amethyst is protective)
Catnip (for sympathetic-ness)
Jet (again, read somewhere it’s protective...plus I’m gawth)
Lavender (protection again)
A roll of sigils I used from @sigilathenaeum: “My cat and I are bonded” and “My pets are happy and healthy”
A crap-ton of my cat’s hair (because it’s hot and he’s shedding).
I put everything in the bag with intention and all that, and then I had to put it on a very high shelf, since Cecil likes knocking it on the floor.
What would you put in a pet protection charm?
A nasty person left a note on my windshield that really hurt my feelings, and no matter how much I vented, it wouldn’t get out of my mind.
So I took that note, drowned it in a closed jar of vinegar and black pepper, and I shook it up until it turned to pulp, then pushed it down the garbage disposal.
It was cathartic, but also my dad’s birthday party helped get my mind off it.
I think for me, using spells is primarily for catharsis. I seem to only do them when I’m feeling helpless.
Did a simple sweetening spell this morning for my sister and her husband because they’re children and don’t know how to be kind to each other when they disagree or even apologize before their disagreement gets blown out of proportion. We’ll see how this works.
They should also go to counselling.
I made a bottle spell tonight for motivation because school’s been kicking my ass. I haven’t really studied up on associations, so I just picked out some shit from our spice rack. So!
Motivation in a Jar!
Water for hydration
Old Bay because I go to University of Maryland
Cloves because I like them, which means positivity
Dried rosemary because it just struck me as something I should put in there. Savory instead of sweet, which reminds me that I should do work before I do fun things
Black pepper for energy
