I love Lee Pace, too, but while he's tall, he's not *big* the way I picture Lincoln. He looks too comfortable in his skin, like he's never felt oversized. I keep thinking of actors like Peter DeLuise (obviously, 20+ years ago), Kyle Bornheimer, or David Denman. Someone with more heft and size on his frame. The sort who might think he's unappealingly overweight. I'm curious on your thoughts of that sort of body type for Lincoln.
Honestly, in my head I picture Lincoln as someone bigger than than Lee Pace too. Rainbow once said she could get behind Cory Monteith as Lincoln, which sadly isn’t an option anymore, but I could definitely see that. She also suggested Chris Pratt, who l think could be really great as Lincoln. David Denman would have been perfect 15 years ago, for sure.
Ultimately, I think if they ever did make a movie of Attachments, the person’s acting abilities would trump their body type, especially for someone like Lincoln. I think his physicality is less important to getting his character right than his sense of displacement, his sense of being odd man out in many ways. I’d love it if the actor cast to play Lincoln was the type of big, broad guy with no discernible abs that I picture when I think of him, but it wouldn’t be a deal-breaker for me if he was someone who looked more like Lee Pace (or Matthew Lewis, or Zachary Levi) as long as he fit the role in other ways.
Mostly I reblog the photos of Lee Pace because it’s fun. :-) I'm not hugely into fancasting in general, and usually don't have a sharp mental image of certain actors to play roles in the books I read. So it's easy for me to just nod and say, "Sure, that person would probably be great!" because most of the time I don't have a really strong opinion about it one way or the other.
