Nobody knows how important Dragon!Simon is to me. Dragon!Simon to me is just like regular Simon. This is just a glimpse into how Dragon!Simon my mind has become
Back on my “what if Carry On was a movie” bullshit
I think it would probably work better as a TV show. But if it were made nowadays, I feel like that just contributes to the mass consumption of TV slop* that has become so prevalent in society these days
*I am not calling TV shows slop, more so the watching culture and binging habits, and the fact that the entire structure of a series has changed in recent years, and that everything has been hastened to the point of losing all personality, ESPECIALLY when it comes to adaptations
All I want to do is take my favorite book and put every ounce of love and reverence I have for it and put it on a screen as a tribute to the original but the last thing I want to do is to participate in the enslopification of audio-visual media
Ela jamais poderia ser aceita na sala de estar de Park. Nunca se sentira aceita em lugar algum, exceto quando se deitava em sua cama e fingia ser outra pessoa.

I'd tie our hearts together, chamber by chamber.
one of the things we love about Carry On is how thanks to Fangirl being the space it was born out of, it's pitched as the last book in a fictional series - so it's peppered with casual references to awful travails all the kids went through in previous years that the imaginary reader of the series would already be familiar with, and that's so neat!
you're just left to imagine all those quests and attacks and that time they were down a well filling up with water, that just get a mention in half a sentence in passing
what i really like about Simon is how he feels like a metaphor for being "gifted" and neurodivergent. (In my experience)
He's the greatest mage, hes the chosen one. He can't seem to cast a spell half the time. But also spells just happen without words sometimes.
He's got a natural affinity for magick, but he always feels behind in how the magickal world works
He tries his best and still fails in what should be easy.
He literally explodes with magick when upset. His feelings being too much for his mind and body and exploding outward.
his mentor expects the world. He has no idea how to achive that expectation.
Is this intentional? Idk, but his going off is like. THE description of how my autistic meltdowns feel.
are we Midwest-maxing as much as these gays or nah
