The soccer (or football, if you prefer) tournament is over! For some, the mood is celebratory. For others, they are left to lick their (figurative) wounds. The players, spectators, and friends all gather at The Camelo for a post-soccer gathering. Team one is victorious, and the fan-favorite Team three unfortunately came in last place.

The Camelo is a fun pub for trivia, but it also happens to have features of a sports bar. On many of the TVs, recordings of various sports play. Some of the sports are familiar Earth ones (soccer, football, lacrosse, badminton, skiing etc.) but another, more mysterious galactic sport plays on some of the screens. It's like if tennis players had to keep the tennis ball in the air while darting around the court and fending off attackers. If you ask Madame what this strange sport played by various vanniree is, she shrugs and mumbles something about back in the day not getting asked questions. Luckily, Muffy knows that the mysterious sport is called Thurgfolot, and that it is an obscure sport even among her species. She has no idea why it's so popular here.

Bar food is featured here, including what's found at a bar/pub: potato skins, pot pies, something that looks and tastes like chicken fingers, french fries, sliders, pretzels, and more. They also have a variety of vegan Jell-o style shots for some reason in a variety of flavors: green tangerine, tangelo, kumquat, and cherry.

The Camelo features a virtual sports simulator room, extreme darts (the darts are just really big), a modest collection of 7 pinball machines of various Earth properties, and a purple pool table.

And yes... there is pub trivia! Many of the questions this time are ones that were made up by our own Prosperity crew. Participants can team up and answer questions using the pub's tablets. The tablets display the question, and teams have 64 seconds to answer. It's a test run of trivia in the bar, so there aren't any prizes, but it will be fun!

EVENT: MASKENBALL

Municomicon (also known as MCCon for short) will be holding its grand masquerade ball (Maskenball) on October 31, 2025. It is no coincidence that this takes place on Halloween. The German organizers of the convention have taken full advantage of the timing of the year, and will be ending things with a bang. While costumes for Halloween are not common in Germany, the organizers selected the date in an effort to attract international attendees.

The entire convention center is decked to the nines, along with many public surrounding local businesses eager to celebrate the occasion. Convention attendees are welcome to attend the masquerade ball.

Cosplay costumes as well as generally fancy dress are considered acceptable attire. Anything extravagant (think suits of armor, elaborate gothic lolita outfits, characters from fictional media in thematic fancy dress, etc.) is wholeheartedly encouraged, but normal costumes and nice outfits are perfectly good.

Also in attendance are Qraxoldov and Tyrannosaurus Pecs- fellow pirate crews. They seem oddly on edge when spoken to, and the crew members seem interested in telling Prosperity members more information. These crew members look ready to walk up to Prosperity folks to explain their trepidation.

Convention and Masquerade attendees are given one free drink ticket toward the fanciful and expansive Star Wars cantina bar. While the bar is themed after Star Wars, the drinks span a range of comic and media. Apart from the themed drinks, there are also drinks and bar snacks that you would expect from a bar in Germany.

You can also suggest drinks if you have a good idea! If the mod squad approves, you can consider it official.

The event will last a total of four hours in-game.

There will be a group event thread, and players are welcome to create their own threads taking place during the event. Qralaxldov and Tyrannosaurus Pecs crew members can and will come up to multiple random characters, eager to share their concerns.

EVENT: LITTLE GLITTER MIX

The recently staffed-up crew of Prosperity was working together relatively well with so many newcomers, but Captain Daphne and First Mate Robin agreed that some group bonding was in order. And so, the Mixer was scheduled.

It would be a "dry" event without alcohol, but not without the fun! The Prosperity was able to reserve a handful of rooms next to one another on Dolnoh, including one with a pretty-good karaoke machine, a room absolutely covered in glittery decorations with lots of yummy snacks (including a Salted Caramel cake with extra salt), and a third smaller room with a couple of sofas for when the event got too noisy.

Not too long before the event, Daphne and Robin discovered that the mixer was scheduled on the same day as Mari's birthday. Mari's birthday was shoehorned (lovingly) into the event, and she got to pick out the cake flavor and theme (glitter).

Folks were encouraged to mix and mingle with different people than usual and exchange Q&As with their assigned group and maybe try to chat.

EVENT: UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN

The Master Gunner of Prosperity, Gwen Volnal, has announced that Arjbo will be the last planet that she travels to as a member of the ship's crew. Despite Gwen's lack of candor, she seems to have no ill will toward the crew, and there is even a going away party being planned in Gwen's honor. Beck has stepped up, in conjunction with the ship's entertainers (Theo and Ian), to plan the event. Samira has also has agreed to foot the bill. Why the ship's doctor is paying for everyone's bar tabs is beyond commonly understood reasons.

Anyway, the venue is called Sprekrek, and it can be best described as a nightclub-restaurant-playzone.

The main, central room includes two dance floors- one on the ground and a larger one on the ceiling. One size of the room has seats and tables on both the ground and the ceiling. Below the large upside down dance floor is a small stage.

Prosperity's own in-house band, Grilled Sandwich Water, will play a set for the party on the stage (under the upside-down dance floor). The venue's management was only too happy for a pretty-good band to play, and will even give the band a little money for being live entertainment. Not a lot of fresh bands come by Arjbo, so this is exciting for everyone.

There are other rooms adjoining to the central room. One is a spherical shaped room that is very smooth and excellent for sliding around on using the features of gravity manipulation. There are lights installed on the smooth room all around. While sliding around, the lights dimly glow in random colors. The sound from the central room is piped in here so that the sound quality is good and fun.

There are a few special party rooms adjoining the central room for private parties and events. Prosperity has rented one, and had the event catered by the in-house restaurant. The specialty entree is a meat chain. Think of chain links. The meat is formed into loops joined to other loops. the intention is rip or bite apart the loop you are going to eat. The meat is made out of a large burrowing arthropod-like creature. I am told that it tastes much like chicken.

There is a cube-shaped bar room also adjoining the central room. The room features three different bars: one on the ground floor, a second on the ceiling, and a third on the vertical wall furthest from the entrance.

Gravity manipulation is what Arjbo is known for, and visitors can rent devices at a reasonable price that allow them to manipulate their personal mass and comfort level. The Personal Gravitational Manipulation Devices (PGMDs) allow users to do stunts like levitate, stand on the ceiling or walls without getting dizzy, and jump really high. Also available for rent are helmets (some more stylish than others), wrist guards, kneepads, padded jackets, soft but sturdy boots, and even elbow pads. It is recommended that visitors who haven't had the chance to practice gravity control by just an intuitive button yet do so in the large sphere room before taking on the dance floor so nobody gets hurt.

EVENT: BIRTHSDAY

Happiest of birthdays to Theo and Daniel, who fortuitously have Earth birthdays very close together! The two will be celebrating in style at the hippest bar/nightclub in the vicinity of the Theme Park Club's clubhouse on the Earth equivalent of October 29, 2023.

The venue itself is called "Seven" because the building is seven-sided- a heptagon, if you will. Each of the walls in this adults-only club is painted a different color. The colors are somewhat muted with some grayish tones, but definitely distinct in color:

Purple wall: Bathroom (enclosed space, features a small chamber that you can enter for a fee if you need to rehydrate)

Green wall: Bar

Orange wall: Booths and tables

Beige wall: Entrance

Yellow wall: Bar

Magenta wall: Photos of patrons

Regarding the picture wall... anyone can put up their picture if they ask the bartenders at the green wall bar. Some of these patrons are moderately famous. Qjun has about ten pictures on the wall with various patrons. Junyi is possibly in three pictures. However, she is aggressively blurry in two and it's only the top of her head in one of the others... so it's hard to tell. Oplo is in one of the pictures. He is kissing his wife in it. They look very happy to be at Seven while wearing those hats with crazy straws attached.

The most important thing to note about this club is that pets are allowed! There is a cover fee for your pet, but the yellow wall's bar sells treats for many common pets on this planet. However, one out of every four days, pets are not allowed at all. Luckily(?) this is a day where pets are allowed.

The doorman recommends to all guests that they read the menus before ordering anything, but doesn't say why. The drinks here are varied. There are a few trendy Earth-style drinks (for some reason, the bartenders call every kind of the pricy imported Earth beer a pilsner), but the real fun comes with the house specials. The house specials are vibrant, brightly colored drinks named after the nine muses. The Urania and The Euterpe are toxic to anybody but carreki, and will make anyone who isn't a carrek quite ill. Vanniree might be a little better off than other species, but not by much. The Melpomene contains some semi-illegal hallucinogenics. All of the drinks are formulated to give a great experience for carreki, though.

The water served at this club is exceptionally clear and pure. The food is almost exclusively soup. Sweet soup, savory soup, watery soup... Whatever you can think of, you can purchase from the red bar, and add a variety of crunchy fixings.

Outside food is allowed in only if it is to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary, graduation, or evading the law.

The music is popping. There's quite the variety of music, from EDM remixes of local folk songs, to German metal, to 70s disco music. You never really know what you will get, but it all has a good beat to dance to. The DJ (located in the center of the bar) does take requests for a small fee.

The crew of Prosperity are invited to attend this splendid birthday party! The party event is a costume party... but none of the other people at the bar are going to be wearing costumes because they don't really understand what Halloween is. Also the Theme Park Club Members will be there too. Everyone is hopeful that the birthday boys and their friends enjoy the night!

EVENT: RAIDERS OF THE LOST CAVERN

On May 20, the crew of the ship Prosperity would divide itself temporarily into three groups for approximately one week:

The Quest: Karmel Vuker leads Ali, Beck, Skylar, HJ, and Butterfly to explore a cave on an uninhabited island.

Daphne: A solo Daphne visits her parents Svo and Nicolas Rux on their expansive Rungung family estate.

The Stronghold: Robin Astrea is acting leader over the rest of the crew in Rungung’s main port.

Daphne will have limited access to communications during the day, but The Quest and The Stronghold can have unrestricted communications. However, Karmel and Prosperity‘s crew are uncertain about whether the cave has characteristics that will block communications. Communications crew members Muffy and Stella will take rotating shifts to ensure that someone is always available to speak to, but the rest of the crew is welcome to communicate through the ship’s normal comms line. Additionally, the Communications crew members will monitor all types of communications methods that the ship might receive in case of the possible emergency in which Skylar innovates a method.

Notably for The Quest, the archaeological evidence indicates that only a djayyar making the attempt of their own volition will have success entering the cave. There are two djayyar at present on the ship (Ali and Samira), but only Ali will be making this journey.

In order to roleplay the consequences of these events, two threads will be opened in the “small threads” Discord server (affectionately nicknamed the “crab knife” server):

Open Comms, available to all characters except Daphne. This channel is for chat messages.

Quest Narrative, open to Karmel, Ali, Beck, Skylar, and HJ. Ship Medic Butterfly will be present, but as the character is an open skeleton character, the admin will narrate what this character does. This is a narrative thread, so roleplaying will take place in third person. At certain moments, the admin may provide narrated insight into what is in the cave.

The two small threads will be semi-synchronous. Idle chatter in the Open Comms thread can occur, but the conversation topics in Open Comms WILL move on if The Quest participants need to use it.

Participation in this event (in the Open Comms and/or Quest Narrative is mandatory for all player characters.

EVENT: SAILING THROUGH SPACE

Prosperity departed from Earth, keen on returning later in March for a My Chemical Romance concert. Until the return to Earth, the crew will enjoy an exciting adventure at the Kuiper Belt Waystation.

The KBW

The Kuiper Belt Waystation (KBW) is like a super hotel/convention center/cruise ship/space station. It has rooms to stay in, observation rooms to gaze upon space, a convention center, a theater, botanical garden, crop garden, three swimming pools, a spa, and NEW for 2023 a bowling alley.

You arrive at the KBW’s port and a meet and greet with other pirates is in full swing. Choose your accommodations (read on) at the adjoining lobby, and enjoy the fun.

The proprietor Zuytri is candid that the visit is not completely free, but she isn’t making a lot of money off of this grand opening. Providing the food for these events so that everyone gets the chance to meet up is important to her, and she can’t just give away accommodations. That said, for what you are getting, the prices are completely reasonable and even a good bargain- especially considering the networking opportunities.

The Main Event

A convention will take place from March 1 - March 8. Each night of the “main event” will include a nice meal and non-alcoholic drink for all guests paying for accommodations.

March 1: Meet and greet

March 2: Fun Day... All of the fun day events are still available the rest of the days, but today some of them are FREE. Bowling, swimming, the high-tech arcade (prizes are never free), a 15 minute massage at the spa (one per guest), a twenty minute preview of the musical extravaganza (Cats)

March 3: Retailer convention (freebies galore)

March 4: The Grande Ball... Dress in your finest and dance the night away with the Earth media smuggling community

March 5: Retailer convention (any freebies that are left galore)

March 6: Rest and relaxation... Star Wars movie marathon all day! Wear your pajamas (cover all private parts) and enjoy some films

March 7: Learning Day... Top industry experts will share their secrets to success in piracy (and possibly try to recruit you to their crew)

March 8: Fond farewells (refreshments served)

Guests are welcome to extend their stay for longer, but there will not be any official events after that.

Accommodation Options

Accommodations for all budgets are available. Daphne will not subsidize room accommodations, but she will make sure every member of the ship gets enough food to eat and water to drink one way or another. You are welcome to choose your accommodation level, and don’t need to tell the admin.

Free: Guests are welcome to slumber on their own ship, although they will have to pay for all of their own food, including at the main event.

Cheap: A low-cost option is to sleep in the “Annex” which is something like barracks with triple-decker bunk beds. The beds are comfy, but there is very little privacy. Shared dormitory-style bathrooms and limited private dressing rooms are available. One meal a day and all food at the main event are included.

Reasonable: Suite rooms (two bedrooms that sleep two each for a total of four guests) are available at a reasonable cost with one meal a day, unlimited coffee and juice, and all food at the main event included. If you only have one or two people, you can be randomly paired up with another pair/single to take advantage of price. Unlimited pool access, free bowling shoes rentals if you bowl, and discounted tickets to Cats are included.

Pricey: Double accommodation rooms with all-you-can-eat food and non-alcoholic drink included throughout your stay are available. One room includes two FREE tickets to Cats once during your stay, 3 hours of bowling to be used at some point during your stay, and unlimited pool access

EVENT UPDATE: RULES OF THE GAME

On September 5, the Spice Girls cardboard cutout winners and their parties met with the Empress of Soulf, the Emperor Consort, and the Vizier. The meetings were disturbing, as the long-awaited “bonus” for the payment that was being withheld turned out not to be a guarantee at all. The crew members would be required to play a game in hopes of getting as much of the bonus as possible.

Thanks to the efforts of Robin and some stalling on the part of the crew, Jayvon the Emperor Consort was brought in for the meeting. While nominally he was supposed to attend, it turned out that he hadn’t truly been invited. Jayvon found it disturbing that the crews had not been paid adequately for their services, which supported negotiations for there to be a “minimum take” instead of there being no guarantee of receiving a bonus payment, at a minimum 17% of the total available bonus would be paid out to each crew that had at least 85% participation in the queen’s “game.”

Based on the results of the negotiation, here are the rules of the game:

On September 11, five Spice Girls winners (Blue, Ali, Skylar, Dorian, and Marlene) will randomly be arranged into an order.

The first winner will enter a private storage room alone. They will not be allowed to bring a camera, communications device, or anything else into the room.

There are 90 crew members total from the four pirate ships on Molfaun. For each crew member, one object has been placed in the storage room. The object may or may not be indistinguishable from the others in the room. It’s a guessing game.

There are over 9,000 objects in the storage room. That first guesser will have five opportunities to touch any object in the room. Only 90 out of those 9,000+ objects could win.

For each correct object selected, the person’s crew will receive 327 gixys.

There will also be additional opportunities to win other prizes in addition to the objects.

The second Spice Girls winner will go, and will get six guesses. The third winner will get seven guesses. The fourth winner will get eight guesses. The fifth winner will get nine guesses.

After the winners have completed their guesses, all of the crew members from the four ships that choose to participate will be randomized into an order.

The crew member that goes next will get ten guesses, the one after that will get eleven, and so on until everyone who chooses to compete has had their guesses.

If all of the objects are collected, then the game will end.

While the guessers cannot record what happens in the room, they will be allowed to communicate with their team members freely five minutes after they have finished having their chance to guess (and after Soulf security has investigated the guesser for bug devices)

Once all of the guesses are over, each crew that had 85% or more crew participation will receive at minimum 17% of their crew that participated’s “share” plus a spa experience on Kor’Sel’Koo. For example, if Prosperity has 22 crew members and all of them participate, let’s say that only one person found an object. Instead of just getting 327 gixys, Prosperity will actually receive 1222.98 gixys (327*22=7194; 7194*17%=1222.93) and a spa experience for each crew member.
