Part of me wants a moment that daisy tells Daniel about Lincoln like with deke, but at the same time I don’t cause I want her to move on but I really want Daniel to have a “sounds like Steve” or “yup I’ve heard that one before”
Ohhhh my gosh... Break my heart, why don't you? 😭😭😭 Daisy telling Sousa about Lincoln, and admitting that she can never REALLY move on, would just be the actual literal BEST - and Sousa, of course, would respond with an equally emotional "I know what that's like."
They'd then have this soft, but very deeply emotional scene where they basically tell each other, yeah, there are still these people we'll always love. And that's okay. They DESERVE to be loved; always. But so do we - and we can give each other that, right here, right now. We're each other's second second chances, and we're going to be here for each other no matter what.
Oh, gosh, I practically wrote a mini-fic there... *wistful sighs* Sadly, I think the chances of something like this happening in canon are so close to zero that we can pretty much say it's not going to happen. There's just, quite simply, not enough time - and if I could bet any money, I'd put it on the fact that AoS is going to spend every scrap of time not used for epic battles and big dramatic plans absolutely MURDERING us with feels from everyone else. Daisy and Sousa are probably going to get a lot of fluff, a near-death shocker, and a lot more fluff afterwards.
But you know what? I'm really happy for them. I'll always ship Staticquake, of course, but both Daisy and Sousa are people who truly, deeply deserve happiness. And I really think they can give that to each other, so all I can say is: I wish them all the best.
(Also: they BETTER get a happy ending.)
