Okay but I genuinely love Alphonse’s outlook on faith? I’m not someone who’s ever deeply personally contended with that kind of thing, but something about it still felt really affirming.

Alphonse is the character who I assumed going into Sallowlands would be the least willing to talk about their feelings, but he’s engaged in so many really interesting conversations across the three episodes so far; I just love hearing what he has to say!

I was going to make a comment about how Alphonse is what happens when you cross Percy de Rolo with Mollymauk Tealeaf, but then he pulled the “I have a dead wife named Marianne” thing and now we have to throw Kattigan into the mix 😂

There’s something so heart-wrenching about how badly everyone wants to believe the Dova are being genuine. The group understands from the get-go that they should probably just cut and run, but the hesitation is there because what if it’s true? What if they’ve finally found a place to belong? And it’s the need for just a little more proof and reassurance that confirms their worst fears.

Especially Dillwyn and Mercy, man, I really wanted this for them :(

Vico Ortiz is truly doing the absolute most when it comes to RP and I am so incredibly here for it. The scene with Mr. Beaks should be considered a masterclass.

The commitment to being completely, earnestly silly (especially in a context where that isn’t expected) without a second of embarrassment or shame is something I wish more people leaned into when they played these games. That’s the mark of a great actor, right there, and it made for such a wonderful moment. We need to show that this levity can exist in the Sallowlands, otherwise what are we fighting for?

I don’t know Vico’s experience with TTRPGs but I would gladly watch them play anything going forward. They are such a magnetic performer and it’s just really damn impressive.
