Snaps from Asia Pop Comic Con 2018. Netflix's area had a Pop's and a Palace Arcade. I kinda wish the event were a bit more organized and that booths were easier to find, but still an interesting first APCC to have visited. Thinking about getting a booth next year 🤔
your art is so pretty, I fall inlove everytime <3 I was at the con and I couldn't pick what klance print I would buy so we were at your booth for a while, sorry for that!! (also I was distracted by the other girl at the booth, shes pretty so I couldn't function right asdfg)
THANK U HFJGHFJH omg it’s fine dude you weren’t causing any trouble naman!! ALSO MY TABLEMATE SAYS THANK YOU AND SHES VERY SINGLE RAW HAHAHAHAHAHA EVERYONE WHO GOES TO OUR BOOTH HAS A CRUSH ON HER IM LAUGHING u got competition JK ½
I have wanted to cosplay Leia for the longest time – with the ultimate goal being Slave Leia – and I realized days before the convention that I actually have enough items in my closet to do a simple Hoth gear version of her!
I did come in a bit late in the morning, and managed to catch the performance of Fightsaber Philippines; that seemed a very fitting way to kick off my APCC weekend while dressed as a Star Wars character. I had the opportunity to take a photo with the group, and it warmed my heart that they acknowledged me as General Organa. ❤
There were a lot of Star Wars cosplays, especially with the presence of the 501st Legion at the event. I dropped by the booth they shared with Fightsaber Philippines to yell at my husband and scold my son, but unfortunately didn’t catch my father at the booth, so this Leia’s still got unresolved daddy issues. XD

ABOUT THE COSTUME
Over the years, my immersion in the Japanese and alternative fashion communities has caused my wardrobe to be 50% practical basics, 45% over-the-top, costume-y looking things, and 5% winter clothes (which is ridiculous, because I live in a tropical country).
I’m particularly proud that none of these pieces were bought specifically for this costume; it feels like everything just fell into place, and I’m glad this is the first cosplay I’ve done after my long hiatus. ❤
It’s definitely not the most accurate, but my character was still recognizable to fellow Star Wars fans. I grabbed dinner in a mall far from the convention and someone yelled “Your Highness!” at me in the restaurant, then proceeded to explain to her confused friend that I was dressed as Leia from The Empire Strikes Back. XD
10/10 would wear this costume again, it’s the comfiest, most hassle-free cosplay I’ve ever had. PLUS it’s great for goofing around with other Star Wars cosplayers, who’re usually super game to do silly things. XD

All in all, it was a pretty fun day. Scouted the artist booths, ran into old friends, and met some pretty cool cosplayers! I forgot what “convention high” felt like, and how forgetful it makes you; I actually surrendered my condominium elevator access card to the locker attendants at the end of the day, and only figured it out when I got home. HAHAHA
I’ll post my convention hauls and the selfies with people I bumped into sometime next week. :) Plenty of thanks to Nikki and Matt for adopting me for a while on Day 2, and taking pics of me! If you ran into me, have selfies with me, or spot photos of me, I’d appreciate it greatly if you tagged me. :D
‘Til next entry,
Vanessa ❤
