I like to hc ancient Silla become Goryeo and Joseon and she's the Korea twins mom. Because she was from the south herself originally, she favored SK over NK which caused some resentment....

just in general SK was the golden child because he's more academically intelligent and cheerful but NK has more hands-on intelligence and has better leadership qualities (example: SK would not know how to bargain for deals or make stuff from scratch as well as NK can)

Who is the old woman? Is she a human or Ancient Korea?

//She, my dear anonny, is the previous dynasty of Korea before it became "The Republic of South Korea". The dynasty was named Joseon, which was the longest dynasty compared to other periods (I wish I could name them but they have to be in Korean XDD;;;)

I thought, "Hey, if cities can become personified... and the Roman Empire and whatnot can be personified... why not the dynasties too?" So I created Joseon~ >v<

But since Joseon was was dissolved by the Japanese, Joseon slowly began to lose her standing as a dynasty. She began to age. It was very slow at first, but she became fully human after a few decades "The Republic of South Korea" was made.

Now she's their mom. Although YongSoo's practically older than her, he just calls her that because it seems appropriate to him.

YongSoo remembers someone who used to be part of their household other than JiHyun and Joseon. Two people actually. He vaguely remembers that they used to be happy in their home, but they had to move far away. He occasionally wonders why, making him zone out at times.

YongSoo enjoys his time in his house with Joseon. He looks after her as she's growing old with age, now that she's not the Joseon Dynasty anymore. She's human. He grows sad sometimes when he thinks about the day Joseon will someday pass away. But she always reassures him that she'll always be a part of him and his heart.
