Fjalar Steilsson is eighteen years old and is a freshman. His major is International Business.

Fjalar always felt estranged from his family.  His eccentric mother and stern father spent most of their time doting on his older brother, Børre, telling him to be more like his brother and follow Børre’s example.  It drove him crazy, and he spent most of his teen years avoiding his brother like the plague.  They managed to mend their relationship just a bit before Børre left for college, and without Fjalar’s permission, his mother applied to the same college that Børre attended for him.  He’d been furious with her for her actions but ultimately ended up attending the school despite his reservations, hesitant to reconnect with the brother he’d spent most of his life resenting.  He’s still not sure about college or his major but has decided he’ll give it a shot.  After all, it’s not like he has another plan.  His roommate is Li Xiao Chun.

                         Welcome to Gakuen Hetalia

Im Yongsoo is eighteen years old and is a sophomore. His major is Computer Science.

Diagnosed with ADHD at a young age, Yongsoo had a difficult time getting through school.  His parents refused to put him on medication until he nearly failed a grade because of his inability to focus on the class--but once they did, he blossomed, displaying his exceptional wit and talent.  He soared through his classes and graduated from high school early, attending Gakuen Hetalia a year early.  He was often viewed as strange by the other students in his year because he was so young and hyperactive and usually was offputting to those around him.  As a result, he joined the video games club with the hope to make friends and show off his talents, but he usually just irritated the other members as he spewed off countless facts about the games and bragged about how good he was.

Dear Mr. Vasilev...

                         Welcome to Gakuen Hetalia

Dimitar Pavlov Vasilev is twenty-four years old and is a senior. His major is Engineering.

College was really just an afterthought for Dimitar.  His parents had wanted him to go into politics, as his father was a renowned politician in Bulgaria, but he’d never been the type to go out of his way to make them happy.  Engineering was what kept him sane, not politics, and after a lot of arguing, Dimitar’s parents told him that he would have to go to a university if he wanted to get out of following in his father’s footsteps.  Eager to cut his own path, he agreed, and his father used his position to earn him a spot at Gakuen Hetalia.  He did well his first two years, but after a bad breakup, Dimitar was left rather apathetic towards school.  He drank more, smoked more, partied more, and his grades suffered so much that he lost his scholarships.  He managed to pick himself up just enough to struggle to senior year, but he still seems to generally lack the drive to get through his last year.

                             Welcome to Gakuen Hetalia

Christian Mikkelsen is twenty-three years old and is a senior. His major is Computer Engineering.

His reputation in his youth and adult years has always been “a genius”, and in some cases “a nerd”. Teachers were left in awe, as he already began doing college maths when he was 7 years old. However, this had actually worried his parents from his strong intelligence in maths, science, and really anything he had to remember and ace (though he suffered at arts and gym). They didn’t want him to be taken advantage of for his intelligence, worrying his knowledge would be put to wrong uses. With this in mind, they tried to isolate him, and he in turn tried his hardest to show he was mature. Eventually, in his frustration with his parents constantly working, he ran away from his family and made an effort to try to be on his own. Of course, there was a lot of difficulties involved, but a few friends took him in and helped him out until he was ready to go out on his own.

Feliciano Vargas is nineteen years old and is a freshman. His major is Art.

Ever since Feliciano was young, he had always been talented with using his hands. Inspiration came from his Grandfather, who took the time to join Feliciano when drawing and painting. After  his Grandfather’s death, Feliciano had promised himself to take on his legacy as an artist, working hard at just about everything—sculpting, drawing, writing, music—he did everything with his hands, making an effort to become somewhat of a Renaissance Man. With this in mind, he purses the major of art.

Francis Bonnefoy is twenty-two years old and is a senior. His major is Political Science. 

Francis was born in Paris, France to a wealthy French politician and his wife. His father held a tight grip on him, who wanted Francis to work in the government like himself. This also caused his younger siblings to be ignored, and Francis barely had time to spend with either of them in his teenage years. However, Francis had found a love for ballet as a young child and would practice it in secret. He currently has no desire to fulfill his father’s wishes, and wants to be a professional ballet dancer. Once he entered college, he saw a gateway to freedom until he realized that his father had picked everything for him, so he began to take classes in secret. His roommate is Andrei Mihăileanu.

Erzsébet Héderváry is twenty-one years old and is a junior. Her major is Linguistics.

Born to a single mother,  Erzsébet’s life had always been a hardship. Whether it was paying rent, or trying to survive, the two women had endured enough suffering to last two full lifetimes. So when the young woman had applied for a scholarship to school, the both of them expected it to fail miserably. But in fact, it did the complete opposite. She was accepted, and within a couple months, she was on her way to school. Though she can hardly pay for anything besides what’s covered by her scholarship, she is more than happy to be given a chance to do something with her life.
