I love aphids and I know they’re problematic. Imagine if they were the size of small dogs. Plump boys... I would pet them.

Oleander Aphids, Aphis nerii (by me)
Crappy photos but I found a load of these colourful little lads today. I’m fairly certain that they are Oleander aphids (Aphis nerii) but my aphid ID skills are a little lacking.
This cute little red milkweed dweller thing, surprisingly called the Red Milkweed Bug, has a group of little yellow friends called Oleander Aphids.

Milkweed aphids (Aphis nerii), on desert milkweed (Asclepsias subulata). Like other milkweed consumers, these aphids ingest and accumulate compounds from the host plant that make them unpalatable or toxic to predators. Their bright color is a signal: “I’m dangerous and nasty, don’t fuck with me.”
I think I’ll wear yellow today.
