DISDAIN FOR PROTOCAL, the laziness of medication reliance, pumping victims of their own mind full of drugs to coax them into an intoxicated calm. giving doses prescribed too high, watching people become hollow shells at her hand, guided by those above. it’s never sat right, especially regarding children. the young and impressionable, stunted by chemicals. the doctors’ willingness to dim their light for the sake of convenience sickens her. a tantrum, a dose of antipsychotics. an outburst, restraints and sedation. ( treatment plan for the sake of the staff, not the patients. utterly backwards. ) every day she’s powerless; as a nurse it is not within her jurisdiction to alter plans put in place by those above her. all she can do is attempt to deescalate before the situation dictates the need for chemical intervention.
she sits, gets on azula’s level, lowers her head to look into her eyes. the young lady is a person, and she’s suffering. whatever behaviors arise are an attempt at communication. a need is not being met. it’s indra’s job to piece together what it means and take appropriate action, and not by way of drugs. ( unless it be in azula’s best interest to calm her amidst crisis. ) “ please, azula, tell me what it is you need. i know you must be frustrated. i am here to help. ”
