#day58 on T! The nonprofit is called #APIDC, Asians and Pacific Islanders with Disabilities of California

I have been employed as the AV Lead and general fire-put-out-er which was a huge amount of fun and the conference was fantastic, I learned so much!!! (& received many compliments on both my tech skillz and my general helpfulness and competence which was gratifying of course)

but on the other hand I had to get up before 6am both days and between that and the HUGE amount of social interaction I had to do in the past 2 days I am absolutely wiped out

but I won a prize in the raffle

The disability community is predominantly White middle-class people with disabilities who are loud and opinionated, and who know how to fight for their equal rights.” Lin goes on to suggest that stereotypes of the soft-spoken Asian American remain pervasive in the mainstream disability rights advocacy groups. Yet, says Lin, these stereotypes are clearly untrue. “I have met so many AAPIs with disabilities who are powerful and who do fabulous work in the community, and who are doing work at the intersection of disabilities and race.”
