Grace Lee Boggs (1915) is an activist, writer, and feminist. She is known for her twenty year political collaboration with C.L.R. James and Raya Dunayevskaya followed by her activism in the Civil Rights and Black Power Movement in Detroit. Yuri Kochiyama (1921-Present) is a Japanese American activist and survivor of the internment camp. She was a member of Malcom X's Organization of Afro-American Unity and even held Malcom X when he was assassinated in 1965. Yuri Kochiyama has dedicated her life mentoring activists especially in the Asian American movement building coalitions across racial lines, rights of political prisoners, and reparations for Japanese American internment camp survivors.
