Long time no ask! I was just double checking Tumblr to make sure I hadn't missed anything, and I had your preview waiting for me!

I think I started around the time chapter 23-28 was up, and have fawned over every twist, turn, and impressive format shenanigans! If I wanted to praise everything I could about your work I would have to make a video essay to keep it short! I think what always strikes me is the chemistry and villiany you capture with words. It is accurate and beautiful in its accuracy; to a level difficult to explain.

At times I can feel myself being pulled from Jerren's head space, to reader's, to sans' along with you, and have to re-read whole sections just to re-contextualize what has happened!

I also find the balance of drama to borderline horror to *ahem* the bonezone perfect. The hills and valleys feel natural every time I read.

The past decade has been the definition of crazy 😅 As someone who might be a week late to the upload because of my own schedule, (in the best way) we'll be here🖤

Aw man, you are too kind -- thank you, this makes me really happy! I've said it before, I'll say it again: way back before I posted chapter 1 to AO3, I kept thinking to myself, it's ridiculous to put so much work into this stupid story when no one is ever going to appreciate it on the same level I created it. I was wrong, and I love being reminded that I was wrong. It's really encouraging because the stage of writing I'm in right now is really lonely, I won't have anything to post for a while yet, and I'm desperate to talk about it!

I shared this preview with my discord so I'll share it here too. Spoilers for Sans' weird childhood under the cut:

i’m alone with this woman who insists i call her “auntie.” of all the ridiculous things.

we’ve been with her for a month. our creator had us for about a year, but we only remember the last couple weeks of that year. so it feels like we’ve lived here longer than we lived at the lab. i’d rather die than go back there, but being here still feels like punishment.

papyrus is at his music class. whenever he’s gone, i feel like bugs are crawling all over my bones. how can he possibly be fine out there without me? what if something happens and he needs me? 

i know that woman thinks we need to learn to tolerate separation. that’s why she has us doing different activities. she’s still trying to find one for me that i won’t get myself kicked out of.

i hate her. who does she think she is?

we’d be better off on our own. 

she’s cooking dinner. singing one of her inane songs. 

i’m reading. at least, she thinks i’m reading. but i’m actually coming up with a plan to kill her.

it would be easy. she’s not all that strong. she wouldn’t expect it. 

serve her right for separating us. 

then pap and i would run away. 

would we just disappear? run so far that creep would never find us?

or should i find him first, and remove him from the equation?

i am painfully aware that i can’t attack him directly. nor can i take any action that carries the intention to hurt or indirectly jeopardize him. not unless i want to get knocked out cold until he turns me back on. and the headache afterwards is miserable.

but i bet there’s a loophole there SOMEWHERE. 

what’s the point of being a living weapon if you can’t kill your worst enemy?
