Optical Illusions

Optical illusions, what can I say? They are a unique type of art where your mind tends to warp and change your perspective on simple objects or images. Just as this cut out “cube” is demonstrating.

I believe optical illusions are classified as high art because of how it can change your perspective and can have you wanting more. High art should make you feel this way... right? Making you feel excited and craving more of it. And the thing is, it’s also cheap (Able to be created by most of the population).

With such simplicity and spunk, I can’t help myself from looking at more of these!

I needed a 5th criteria/purpose/detail that proves EDM high art. And if you watch this video you see what comes from just a song. The song doesn't even need words and it has made huge events such as festivals and raves! Doesn't that blow your mind? That so many artists will come together and share a stage to get the crowd energized! This is Michigans biggest, if not one of the biggest music festivals! Yes they play other folk tunes and stuff but they also play EDM! People go to concerts just to listen to this caffeinated music! EDM is a seed that has grown into an electric forest where hundreds of thousands of people come to enjoy being free.

This is high art. Everyone considers ballet to be high art and what is happening in this video is no different from ballet. They are on pointe like on ballet. These dancers are even holding their hands like how ballet tends to. Irish dance and ballet share many similar techniques which makes Irish dance high art just like ballet

something pretty interesting i found while doing research. The purpose of this is to only be as flavorful and pleasing to the consumer as possible. it is no longer functioning primarily the same way food does. for example, the purpose of eating is to consume calories and store fat, but the size of food you get in restaurants with this type of preparation is meager, because similar to fashion it goes beyond functionality to function as art (has aesthetics )

Women’s wrestling as high art. This is one of MANY matches in the WWE women's division but I wanted to use it because it shows two amazing and inspirational wrestlers going out there and showing the world what they can truly do. The emotions shown after Sasha wins the championship just show how much wrestling genuinely means to them.
