I don't think they should have brushed over Apocalypse Bobby and Charlie as fast as they did, I think it should have been painful and messy and awkward, I think every time Sam and Dean looked at them it should have reminded them that the people they actually knew and loved were dead and that these were familiar strangers, I think every instance that proved their difference to their dead counterparts should have hurt like a knife to the gut and every instance that proved their similarities should have felt like dying

watching sam try so hard to take apoc!bobby's criticism in stride is killing me. because, first off, that was not framed constructively at all /silly. even so, he's a leader now, and he's trying to listen to the people he's in charge of—if somebody has a complaint, he's going to listen, whether it be constructive or destructive.

but second off, those words are coming from one of the only paternal figures sam has ever known. dean had john and mary, at least for a time, before everything went to shit—he has those memories; sam never did. a lot of his "fatherly" memories come from either dean, or bobby. his universe's bobby, of course, who is surprisingly different from apoc!bobby. but that doesn't really matter, because looking at the same face for long enough will have you quickly forgetting that. especially if it's someone you care/d about.

so that criticism cuts even worse because of who it's coming from—because apoc!bobby is dealing with his own issues, but all sam hears is his bobby's disappointment.
