Carefully, I picked out Apollo’s string. It glowed vibrantly, as the strings of all divine beings do. Mine most brilliantly of all, of course, though Apollo’s always seemed to be trying to outshine it. I firmly grasped hold of it, matching its own glow with my own. Slowly, I exerted my will, my power, pressing my radiance against the manifestation of Apollo’s, slowly increasing my light until it overpowered his. Yet, it resisted me, its glow strengthening, refusing to surrender. I grit my teeth. “I am Zeus, King of the Gods, and your father. Submit to me.” ----- Zeus tries to turn Apollo into a mortal. It does not go as well as he expected. That only incenses him further.

Okay im just gonna publish this because its cute

I know it doesn't fit with the myths but I really like writing fluff

This is quite old, but I really like this piece. I never published it because I don't publish 95% of everything I write. Probably more than that, as I'm just really publishing thop1 at this point. If yall like this I might publish some other ficlets I’ve written.

(Hermes is around sixish maturity wise here.)

“I checked for monsters, but they’re all scared of me,” Apollo said with a smile. Leaning down and ruffling Hermes’s hair. 

Hermes, ever so young tried to hide the thankful look that flitted across his face. He failed, but what can you expect from a child? Apollo almost laughed at his attempt at a rude I-Am-Half-A-Century-Old-Apollo-That's-Old-I-Don't-You-To-Protect-Me-I’m-Not-A-Baby face.

“So? They should be scared of me too!” Hermes replied.

“They certainly should be!” Apollo replied with enthusiasm, sitting down next to Hermes. “Of course, I can't see anything being afraid of you. You're too cute for that.”

“I am not!!!” Hermes whined. “I am SCARY! I am invincible!”

“Uh-huh.” Apollo shook his head. “If you're so invincible, then take this!”

Apollo launched himself at Hermes tickling him. Hermes thrashed and screamed with laughter.

Hermes eventually kicked Apollo in the face, prompting him to stop. Hermes was giggling wildly.

“You're adorable,” Apollo poked his little brother's chest. “and squishy” poke. “and tiny” poke. “and a little unstoppable force of chaos who I love”

Hermes was giggling. Apollo leaned down and kissed his forehead. “Night kiddo”

Apollo stood up and tucked Hermes in for the second time that night. “Get some sleep, who knows, maybe tomorrow we can visit Aunt Leto and you can get some cookies.”

“Okay!” Hermes said enthusiastically. “Night!”

Apollo smiled, “Night Hermes.”

Hermes rolled over.

Apollo did a double take when he noticed Artemis leaning on the door frame. She pressed a finger to her lips and beckoned him over.

“You’re adorable with him Apollo.” She smiled, glancing over his shoulder at Hermes.

“I'm just looking after him.”

Artemis scoffed. “Don't sell yourself short Apollo, you’re great with kids.”

“Why are you here? Usually, you at least tell me your visiting.”

“Father wants you in the throne room.”

Apollo sighed, looking annoyed. “Does he. Any idea why?”

“Something about getting him something, most likely.”

“Urgh.”

“Yeah. I’ll stay here with Hermes, do try not to take forever, I doubt Hermes would take kindly to spending the day with me.”

Apollo laughed. “He loves you, Artie. He would enjoy spending the day in the wilderness.”

“Likes you more,” Artemis said. “He practically worships the ground you walk on.”

Apollo rolled his eyes. “Well, I’d better get started on whatever fetch mission father has for me.”

“Be safe, your still MY little brother.”

“Twins.”

“So? Nine days is a long time.”

Apollo sighed. “Bye”

“Bye.”
