How did you come out with the idea of the technical difficulties creature? I'm curious about it 👀

oh man! radish has a fucking History as a character, dude. this got a lil long so im gonna put it under a cut

radish started out as a little joke with myself, more or less! when testing out games with character creators that let u change ur character at any time, i had picked up the habit of defaulting to a pitch black character w/ MAYBE a few defining white aspects (pure white eyes/small markings/etc). i ended up defaulting to them a fair bit, but eventually, as anything i create does, they sort of got a mind of their own! the name radish sheerly came from me thinking it was funny and liking the word radish

i ended up changing up how they looked and channeling my love of the sun/moon/opposites attract/balance dichotomy/aesthetic into one character. i sort of changed their name, gave them some personality, and went a little wild. however, the majority of their character development came in the form of Technical Difficulties! it helped me develop their character and figure out their abilities better and helped me put together how they tie in to the story as a whole!

i wanted to make them weird and kind of enigmatic in a way that makes others scratch their heads. and. not necessarily scary, but definitely unsettling if you think about it for too long. they have significance in the world of make believe that will definitely be addressed as the story goes on.

the only drawing i have on my computer is this old mspaint doodle from when i was still figuring out their character. theyre a fair bit different looking now, but the big aspects remain the same! also ive never posted this concept doodle so here you go! a small reward for asking me things bc i love to ramble!

Chapter 9 - Triple Threat: a family can be a girl, two lesbians made of inanimate objects and a sock harassing a television with limbs

Chapter 12 - Wardrobe: local bastard gets his act straightened out. small child gains more parents

Chapter 13 - Hoofers: he was a horse all along

Chapter 15 - Target Audience: television man is gay and stupid and pines over his ex. child obtains custody of him.

Chapter 16 - Ex Position: my daughter finally gets the love and affection she deserves.
