Headcanon: Taiyang has been keeping up with his old Hunter buddies on the whereabouts of Adam Taurus. What Tai will do once he finally locates him is uncertain.

Headcanon: Taiyang used to have a southern accent (at least Remnant’s equivalent of it) back in the day but got rid of it by the time he graduated from Beacon (much to Raven’s dismay). However, if he gets angry enough he’ll slip back into it.

Headcanon: On the battlefield Neon will make fun of her opponents and rile them up, but off the battlefield she is constantly complimenting people and trying to make their day a little bit brighter.

Headcanon: You know how everyone always asks that one friend with the truck to help them move or something? Glynda was that friend except instead of a truck she was always asked to use her Semblance.

“Hey Glynda, would you mind fixing this window before my teammates come back?”

“Yo Glynda, could you stay after the party and help us clean up? Your Semblance would really help speed up the process.”

“Glynda, I know you’re studying for finals, but I might have accidentally decimated the courtyard.”

RWBY: Volume 3, Chapter 11 Thoughts/Reactions [SPOILERS]

Okay, I’ve watched the episode a couple more times and I have processed it.

Paging Taiyang: Your daughters are in distress.

Long read ahead, but before I start I just want to say that the production value of RWBY just keeps rising every volume and the animation department is on fire. Like holy cow guys, you are truly amazing at your craft and are one of the main reasons RWBY is so great.  I love you guys.

Now buckle in, kids.

First of all, Velvet has one of the most badass weapons in the series. Like I was expecting a magical bomb bunny army or a hammer space of sorts (I guess I was kind of right), but what was shown took the cake. It was amazing. I’m guessing she mimics the weapons/fighting styles she sees or gets close proximity to (she probably got them when watching the tournament) (Edit: Just realized she uses her camera to get their weapons), but can only use it once. I honestly loved the scene so much because it is the one time we see Velvet truly confident and in her element. Sure she’s sociable with the other hunters/huntresses, but she’s also shy and tends to stick to the background. But when Coco gave the go ahead she became a completely different person when walking up to the robot. Like, oh my God she was in the fucking zone and I immediately knew that someone’s shit was gonna get fucked up.  And when Crescent Rose materialized I was like “OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH SHIIIIIIIT, BAAAAAAEEEE.” As she fought I then realized that even though she can copy weapons/fighting styles, I’m guessing she can’t copy semblances, which makes her even more badass to be able to hold her own using other people’s weapons. Which fits into Velvet’s personality of being of an observing type.

Secondly, Roman and Neo. Best villains ever. They truly do what’s best for themselves and I fucking freaked out when they did their little team-up against Ruby. I hope Roman somehow survived and that Neo was able to safely land because I absolutely think that this show benefits with them in the picture. They are villains who show charisma and personality unlike their colleagues and I love that. They fucking bask in the glory of their villainy and literally show absolute no regard for human life except their own. Also, I’ve noticed that Neo is probably the only thing Roman cares about judging by his reaction to her flying away. Which is great because that means if he IS dead then Neo is most likely coming back with a vengeance.

Thirdly, I’m so proud of Ruby for holding her own against those two. I’m glad she fought even without her weapon and was able to take all the hits, but kept getting back up. She has the potential to become one of the greatest huntresses of all time when she works on her hand-to-hand combat and keeps that determination. This scene really showed her character off well.  

Fourth of all, Cinder knows how to get shit done. Like she doesn’t monologue like Roman and just fucking goes for it. Usually with this type of scene I would have expected her to go after Jaune first, but no. She knew what the real threat was and got rid of it without making a huge entrance. And she didn’t even go after Pyrrha and Jaune, why would she waste her Aura on two kids who can barely stand? Cinder has priorities and follows through without a word. A villain like that is to be feared and I am truly afraid of her (and Adam, but for different reasons). Poor Pyrrha could only watch as everything fell apart right before her eyes. I’m excited to see what Ozpin will do and maybe peak a bit into his past since it seems he and Cinder have a mutual acquaintance.

Lastly. Adam fucking Taurus. He is a ruthless son of a bitch and his interaction with Blake was disturbing. She seemed so desperate to remind him of their original goal and he hits her without a care. I’m getting the feeling that Adam once believed in Blake’s hope for equality (maybe with reluctance but he loved her so he believed it too) but he soon became more cynical and bitter and became a monster. Which what Adam is: a monster. He shows no mercy and is willing to severely injure and kill those who are in his way and I fear that. His twisted love is what makes him even more frightening. The way he looked at Blake after cutting off Yang’s arm and had the gall to say “Why do you hurt me, Blake?” and proceeded to cut her shadow clone’s head off really struck me. Adam is sick and disillusioned and is a fucking monster. Out of all the villains, he’s the crazy one that I think Cinder would be willing to off once he served his purpose because he is a weak link and unpredictable. He’s a great villain to have and I Iove that the show shows all types of villains with different motives and different personalities. It is beyond amazing.

In conclusion, I’m excited and scared how this will all wrap up. The students are in for a bad time, but I’m sure they’ll pull through in the end.

RWBY: Volume 3, Chapter 8 Thoughts/Reactions [Spoilers]

-I’m glad Blake’s hesitancy at first was not blown out of proportion and was mostly resolved right away. She was well within her right to be suspicious and I cherish the fact that these girls truly care for their friends and are willing to put their trust in each other despite what has happened. 

-”Firecracker”? Qrow’s just a huge fucking softie to these girls, I fucking swear.

-I wonder how close Qrow and Raven are and if they were closer in the past. Are they twins?

-I like seeing more of Ren’s personality. Now we all know he’s a huge nerd.

-Oh, Jaune, you’re adorable.

-HAND HOLDING. YESSSSSS.

-Pyrrha, bby no. Jaune, go hug her. 

-Jeez, this is heartbreaking. Pyrrha’s voice catching when she starts crying is just...She wants to be with Jaune, but I believe she thinks that her feelings for him could get in the way of her judgement of everything.

-Jaune, bby you did all you could.

-Little cinnamon roll Velvet with her photography was one of the cutest things. I also liked seeing that the students have little non-fighting related hobbies.

-Velvet, just...just be my best friend and bring Yatsu, Coco, and Fox with you.

-Ruby figuring things out by herself makes me proud. Get them, Ruby!

-What the- How did he know she would be there?!?!?! Mercury Black, get the fuck outta the way

-NONONONONO. NOT THAT MATCH-UP! MILES STAHP!

-MY ROSE CHILD IS DEFENSELESS, SOMEONE HELP HER

-PENNY IS JUST EXCITED TO BE THERE AND BE WITH PEOPLE. FUCK. PROTECT HER AT ALL COSTS. MILES, KERRY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!?!

So seeing as how Cinder hacked into the match-ups she is finding ways to get rid of all the best fighters without people noticing. Coco might be out of commission since she might think she’s having hallucinations, Yang has been disqualified and shamed, and Penny is next since she is a practically a weapon. If Cinder could get rid of her, then she would have one less problem, but she could also use it as a reveal that the military has been creating robots with auras which could create a major scandal especially since they let Penny participate in a tournament with humans. It would just leave Pyrrha, who right now is going through a breakdown and is unsure of herself right now. I’m so excited and scared for the next episode, I love this show.
