Apothic White 2013: Winemaker’s Blend, California, White Wine, Review...ish...
okay.. this wine.. too delicious.. not safe!
It’s sweet and soft and gentle to sip.
Very pleasant, very comfortable, very gentle.
I would not serve it with any serious warm food, maybe a small slice of no-bake style cheesecake in a sweet or bright flavor like lemon, lime, or possibly mint.
I’ve had good mint cheesecake, they are a thing, don’t argue with me on this.
Whatever you serve it with, make sure it’s light, fresh, and delicate.
The wine itself tastes of honey and has hints of vanilla and peaches. It’s well balanced but may be on the sweeter side for people who prefer their wines tart, or dry.
I usually don’t prefer white wines as they taste either too sour or feel chalky in my mouth, this does neither.
It is, in fact, so pleasant to drink, so sweet and delicious, and such an effortless thing to consume that I’ve had 2/3′s of the bottle already and it’s been about an hour.. and for the last 20 or so minutes I’ve been really controlling myself because I discovered that I was running out of wine way faster than is acceptable.
So... I suggest sharing this with a friend, because it sneaks up on you when you’re not paying too much attention.
