Application Question: As a pinch-hitter, how much heads-up will we have between being notified of a fill-in and when the contribution is due?
All pinch-hitters would likely have a month or a little less than a month to create their piece since we want them to actually have time to work on it. :)
Application Question: Also, is this zine meant to only depict canon? As in, are canon divergence scenarios (like, Kakashi raising baby Naruto, Rin surviving past 14, etc) not allowed?
Yes, our zine is canon-only, but that includes interpretations of certain times within his life. We aren't allowing canon AUs though that change the narrative/storyline of Kakashi's life such as the ones you mentioned. Thank you for understanding! <3
is bellatrix black a playable character?
No, I’m afraid that we are an Order-centric game so all characters must be at least allies of the Order of the Phoenix, if not actually members. Characters like Bellatrix are sometimes written as “secondary characters” by our players, but only when a certain plotline or thread requires them and thus they aren’t available for application as full/primary characters. Sorry!
That said, our game is focused on exploring the shades of grey within the Order itself, so you could easily play a character who is pro-Order yet has some of Bellatrix’s “style” to her, if you were interested in something like that! We have a few bios coming out soon that may pique your interest, and we’re also open to Non-Bio Characters if you’d prefer to make your own!
Application Question: When is the date where contributors can put their finished zine work in their portfolio?
Hello! As long as you don't post your work publicly on social media or in any other public spaces, you are free to use your work for zine/work application portfolios, specifically! Please be sure to ask a mod before doing so though so we can give you the go-ahead :)
Wow you've been open awhile! I'd be shy joining a gorup How hard is it for new players to fit in?
Hi there! We have been open for several months now, which is crazy to think about! As far as joining this group, I’d say we have several members that joined recently or halfway through. One of the most amazing things for me, as an admin, to watch is how our players immediately accept and open up to new players, pulling them into plots and the ooc. At HR, there aren’t “cliques” … we’re all just here to explore this war-ridden world with fantastic writers! We’re incredibly open to new members and would really love to see you apply!
To all our current members, if you have anything to add or even just want to say something to this anon, please comment! It’s sometimes nice for someone to hear from players over the admin!

NON-BIO CHARACTER RESTRICTION: HALF-BREEDS
The admins are putting a temporary cap on half-breed characters due to the number of half-breeds currently active in the game. While we love all of the ones we have (we really do!), we want to keep these sorts of characters to a rarity given that that’s how they’re depicted in the books and as such, are issuing a moratorium... at least for now!
We feel like one in ten is a pretty good game ratio for half-breeds to full-wix, given that the Order probably has a higher percentage of all varieties of “outcasts” and “oddballs” than the magical world does overall. Currently we have three half-breeds out of twenty-three active characters and thirty-two characters overall, so that’s just about perfect. When our ratio skews back we’ll be happy to lift the cap and let in some more!
Secondary characters, particularly those related to existing half-breed characters, are exempt from this temporary cap!
If you want to talk to us off-anon about a particular character idea you’re percolating for a half-breed, we're always open to discussion and possible exceptions! Given their apparent rarity in the world of magical Britain, however, we think we have enough for now... probably! If you are granted an exception, all we request is that you put in your application a why behind making this character a half-breed.
I saw the ask you've answered about relationships staying. Is there a way for us to get filled in on what that looks like for a character if we're considering applying?
Of course! Just send us an ask or a message letting us know what character you’re interested in, and we’ll be glad to fill you in on any relevant details you should know!
So far there’s not much anyone needs to worry about, though; aside from details already set forth in people’s apps (as always, we strongly suggest reading the active apps of those characters who matter most to yours!), most of the relationship developments we’ve had for now-open characters are so far relatively minor and can still be hashed-out with the other players from the ground-up, just like you’d do for any new character.
Application Question: Are merch artists also manufacturing all of their own merch?
No, all merch artists need to do is follow our templates and provide their beautiful designs! We are the ones communicating with manufacturers and handling the production side of things.
