Purpose of this blog > Document journey going through the appAcademy free version. Because there are articles and posts that say the “free version” isn’t really the same as the paid and that a normal person can still finish the bootcamp and get a job.
I’m here to prove that wrong...or at least try to.
Background > System Administrator for 9 years
Programming Experience > Mostly scripting with PowerShell. But, have gone through a few video tutorials on c#, python, html, css, js, react, sql
Does my background help > Absolutely. But, I’ve never really worked with Ruby, Rails, postgresQL, Redux, advanced algorithms
Learning Style > I hate in class instruction and school for that matter. My brain is weird and understands some things right away, while others it takes time to digest. I prefer video tutorials or labs/mini projects I can do on my own so I can work through it at a pace that my brain accepts.
Why should you care > You shouldn’t. This is my journey and in some way might motivate me for accountability (as will that apple macbook cost). But if you ever come across an article bashing AppAcademy on the google monster or on reddit, this is my journey to prove them all wrong.
