unfortunate fun fact: if you're human and sweating around him, his eyemouths are probably open behind the shades to smell you in a bastardized version of a Flehmen response. sometimes his mouth will be open too; not a lot, not really noticeable, just a relaxing of the jaw. but it's there. it's happening. he Wants That Human Stink. he can pick up a LOT of information about someone through it (both in a kind of literal way, the way real animals can, and in a metaphysical 'not quite adhering to the laws of physics but instead the laws of narrative/story' way), which is why it's so appealing to him in the first place.

I'm doing a spicy one because I deserve it and look everyone knows this already but let's codify it, let's write it down:

This nightmare fucking LOVES performing oral with his eyemouths. In the Waking, he's limited by size - eyesockets are fairly small, after all (though bigger than you might think), and there's the teeth to think about unless the other person REALLY wants to get weird with it. But in the Dreaming? Dream logic, baby. He's an amorphous nightmare and if you want to skullfuck him into the next dimension you can.

Regrettably, humans are all he really wants and most humans aren't into the weird body horror shit, so while some will play with his eyemouths a little and even kiss them or shove their fingers in there, he doesn't generally get his brains fucked out (haha. ha. hahaha) the way he wants. Tragic.

(Also: the eyemouths are delicate compared to the rest of him, and sensitive, and he has a harder time controlling any sounds that come out of them.)

this is a difficult one! mostly because he is thousands of years old and although he never entered the Waking (without his master, anyway) until he went rogue, it’s not like there weren’t other beings around that he could have had sex with. do i think he did? eh, probably, but neither the first time nor the times after that would have been of any particular significance to him. there’s also the issue of like, he has played a sexual role in nightmares for some dreamers because that’s part of what their story required, but i don’t think that “counts” in quite the same way both to corinth himself and on a kind of meta level.

if i was going to make it a definitive “yes and he was xyz hundred years old when it happened and here’s how it went”, i’d probably have it be something to do with the faerie court, some pretty thing that pursued him and he went “sounds interesting let’s go”. but as it is: who tf knows.

alternatively, it may be verse dependent. in verses where he’s saturnmused’s destruction’s lover - it was with them. which was significant not because of what they were doing but because of the taboo of it, the trust involved, and the excitement of trying something he’d only done in dreams before (and only as part of a narrative rather than an actual self-experience).

another potential contender dependent on verse: August (ohsunshine). this one’s endearing to me. he’s never fucked in his life but he takes one look at August and is like wait this is different im gonna fuck that one.

his first time in the Waking is a whole different kettle of fish and I don’t really have an answer for it beyond “it was some human guy he killed afterwards” LMAO. it wasn’t particularly significant to him because it wasn’t the first person he killed, but it was a new and interesting experience.

as for the second corinth, well, he. he hasn’t. by default he’s never fucked. i guess in v: exile for a lesson there must’ve been SOMEONE he slept with first because he does sleep around a lot in that verse, but other than that… shrug emoji!

i was talking about this to a friend earlier so it's time to codify it onto the blog for realsies.

my corinth.ian isn't attracted to women* (we been knew), but he does charm and/or even seduce them the same way he does his other victims--or anyone around him, really. he likes to be liked, and he's a hard creature to resist; even if your interest in him is purely platonic, he's compelling and charismatic, and that's a kind of non-sexual seduction all of its own.

he's slept with women (and people of other genders that he simply wasn't attracted to for whatever reason) before, long long ago in the past, and didn't particularly like it. if he did it again it would almost certainly be in the context of a threesome, self-harm (looking at the verse with pohlepen's Frankie here), or for some other purpose where it was necessary/made things easier.

all of which is to say: yes, he will appear to tolerate or even welcome advances from women (and, again, other people of various genders that he happens to Not Be Attracted To for whatever reason) provided it gets him what he wants, hence the mutually-insincere flirtation between him and ethel, or his passive tolerance of the go.od docto.r and other collectors' flattery of him etc. any genuine attraction, however, is reserved for men and Other People Of--you get the idea.

(*i don't give a shit what neil says about the show, i think taking a gay character from the comics and making him pan in the show because 'he's non-discriminating and will sleep with any species' is both stupid and homophobic. very tired of the rhetoric that if you just live long enough you'll eventually "open your mind" to all genders. if you hc corinth as attracted to women that's fine, you do you, but i don't. i never read the ethel or go.od doc.tor scenes as indicative of any genuine attraction, it never even crossed my MIND that corinth was being depicted as anything other than gay until i read neil answering questions about him and was like 'lmfao what??'. word of god means nothing to me.

maybe i'll change my mind about this if he comes back for future seasons, but i doubt it, particularly given that my corinth is primarily comics-based anyway. this is also NOT an invitation for discourse please.)

HM. I think this somewhat depends on the partner; if someone REALLY wants him to play up the sensual, romantic aspect of a sexual encounter, he might for the duration of the sex and no longer (and only if it's to get their eyes at the end; if it's someone he knows he isn't going to eat, he'll do what feels good on a physical level to him in the moment, whereas if he's going to eat them afterwards he can take into consideration "well, if I make them feel good, I get to experience that through them afterwards even if I'm not really enjoying it in the moment").

i think nix's Destruction is the only active ship partner he has where he'll actually get like. romantically invested/go out of his way to Be Romantic because both he AND his partner will enjoy it (albeit corinth will enjoy it in a different way; it's kind of like a feedback loop? rather than something he just inherently would like).

fear - preferably someone else's, occasionally his own (though that's VERY rarely applicable in the first place and is highly context-dependent). the smell of human sweat and hormones. the certainty that someone's life is in his hands and he's about to snuff it out. power and the give and take of it (especially the taking).

for more direct in-the-moment things: hands in his hair (shut up), anything in his mouths (shut up), biting and being bitten (SHUT UP), and when someone just can't HELP but get their hands all over him while he's completely composed.
