These apple brownies are a tasty change from the usual chocolate brownies. The comforting flavors of cinnamon and nutmeg are mixed with the sweetness of apples in Grandma's secret recipe, making them a great treat for any event.
Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup unsalted butter. 1 cup granulated sugar. 2 large eggs. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 2 cups peeled and chopped apples. 1/2 cup chopped walnuts optional. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon. 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg.
Instructions: Warm the oven up to 175F 350C. A 9x9-inch baking pan should be greased and floured. Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg together in a small bowl with a whisk. Butter and sugar should be mixed together in a large bowl until they are light and fluffy. Adding the eggs one at a time and mixing them in is the next step. Slowly add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix them together until they are just barely combined. Add chopped apples and walnuts, if you want to use them. Spread the batter out evenly in the baking pan that has been prepared. Put it in an oven that has already been heated and bake it for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean. Let the brownies cool in the pan for a while before cutting them into squares.
