Indulge in the delightful combination of creamy ice cream infused with the flavors of autumn apples and warm spices, topped with a crunchy apple crisp.
Ingredients: 2 cups heavy cream. 1 cup whole milk. 3/4 cup granulated sugar. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon. 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg. 2 cups diced apples. 1/2 cup brown sugar. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour. 1/4 cup rolled oats. 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed.
Instructions: Whisk heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg together in a bowl until the sugar is completely mixed in. Put the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn it according to the machine's directions until it's the consistency of soft serve. Prepare the apple crisp topping while the ice cream is being made. Dice the apples and mix them with brown sugar, flour, rolled oats, and cubed butter in a different bowl. Mix until it falls apart. Place the apple crisp mix on a baking sheet and bake at 350F 175C for 15 to 20 minutes, or until it is golden brown and crispy. When the ice cream is the right consistency, add the cooled apple crisp topping and mix it in. The ice cream should be put in a container and frozen for at least 4 hours, or until it is firm. Enjoy the apple crisp ice cream in bowls or cones.
