Rest
Autumn in the mountains was unpredictable; two days ago it had been sunny and warm, and then it had started raining. It was one of those steady rains, not hard, but heavy enough to soak through layers in a matter of hours, and combined with the cold made an unpleasant combination. Vincent didn’t mind it so much and continued his quest for escaped science projects regardless of the weather. Killing escaped science was sometimes a bit of a challenge for him, since he was....escaped science himself in a manner of speaking, but thankfully they rarely made it a difficult choice. Such was today. Two creatures put out of their and everyone else’s misery and with that done, he was planning on heading down the mountain towards Junon, when he saw the obvious signs of a battle on a plateau below. He hadn’t been aware that anyone else was in the same area. Might as well go down and see if anyone was still about; judging by the still smoldering blast marks, probably Genesis.
It took a while to get down to the battle sight, as there was something of a cliff in the way and by the time he got down, two hours had passed and he’d shot a brace of rabbit for dinner. A glance at the dead beast, then at the muddy foot tracks heading away from the battle and into the forest. Genesis didn’t take long to locate and Vincent frowned when he saw him. He looked terrible. “You look like shit.” he greeted bluntly, as he approached. The rain was a little less here, under the heavy conifer canopy.
