HI, do you know if the artists will be confirmed before the 30th? And can you tell us how many people applied or is that something you don't want to share publicly?

We’ll be having a call to go through the artist applications soon, and I believe we will have results by the 30th!
We’ll keep you posted here on when those emails will be sent out. We may come across hiccups considering we have 200+ applications!

I'm so excited for this zine! I was scared that it was going to 18+ because I won't be 18 at the time that the application would be open so I'm happy. My question is , what type of artists are you looking for? Like some specific things that you would be looking for? If that makes sense lol 😅
We’re excited that you’re excited!
Since the zine isn’t going have anything that would be considered R18+, we thought it would appropriate to allow applications from artists who are 15 and above!
As for what we’re looking for, we’re definitely looking for artists who have great technical and conceptual skills, and who can marry concept with execution! It doesn’t matter what art style you have, or how popular you are. We won’t be taking that into account when selecting applicants.
We’ll be looking at examples of art you give us, so you can send anything you want, YOI related or not.

Even if you feel like you’re not “good enough”, don’t sell yourself short! You’ll never know if you don’t try.

Applications close at the beginning of June 24th (12AM, Midnight EST.)
Essentially, they close the night of the 23rd!

Would the characters drawn be ALL male, or could we do female characters as well?

When you begin selecting artists to participate in the zine, will you be sending out emails to artists you don't select as well as those you do? Or will you be doing a mass announcement? Sorry, I'm just worried about waiting in limbo.
We’ll be sending out emails to everyone who applied!
There will be an email for accepted artists and an email for those who aren’t.
Remember to check that you received a confirmation email containing your application answers after filling it out! That’s how you’ll know we have the right email address for you.

Just curious: for those who have applied already, how are you checking to see if they're 18+? Will you be sending out emails to those who applied before the new age limit to make sure no one is below the limit? I was just wondering! And wishing all the mods the best! Good luck ( ´ ▽ ` )b
Hello!
We did send emails to everyone who’s applied thus far to inform them of the change of our age limitation from 15+ to 18+, but most likely, we will be narrowing down the applicants after we make preliminary choices and the application period is over.
That way, we have a smaller pool to check through! It would be more difficult to keep records on all our applicants versus those who make it through the preliminary choices.

My friend and I were wondering if it's possible to collaborate a work for the zine and how the application would go when applying? She would do the backgrounds and I would draw the characters and clothing.

We’ve determined that for collaborating artists, each individual should fill out their own applicationl
That means that, for a pair of artists, we get two applications.
Make sure to add in the comments section at the very end of the application that you’re collaborating with [insert your partner’s name and handle here!]
Eg. “I’m collaborating with Viktor’s Secret @vsecretzine“
If not, we’ll view your applications as separate applications instead of as a pair.
We will also not be accepting collaborations from groups of artists (3 people or more) for this zine.
