We need others to survive... our brains want us to be around other people.... but not just any people, people who value and care about us! To be part of a tribe who values you is Survival... the human brain is HARD WIRED to want this belonging, this need to be an insider, not an outsider. At Ford’s Day of Understanding We had the chance to share how IMPROV is the means to create that safe zone for inclusion and belonging. Improvisers will always be my tribe. And Ford Improv is my tribe at work. What an awesome day sharing #appliedimprovisation at Ford. Our first live broadcast too! We were doubly honored to get some praise & encouragement from Jim Farley too. I can’t help but think of Chris Farley... he would love to see me doing Improv at Ford, I think. He’d say No way, that’s crazy shit. Haha Second City training is intense & I will always feel a special bond with those peeps, especially Chris. I watched how improv changed him. Opened him up, gave him confidence to be himself. As it did ALL of us. Improv brings out your light, and we all marveled at the Farley light. Chris used to love to challenge me. And made me better because he loved my work and believed in me. As I did him. You have to have that high trust to do improv. Ford Improv is bringing this into the workplace... we are growing and I’m so excited for 2020! #positivity #improv #fordimprov #inclusion #inclusionmatters #employeeengagement #ford #fordculture #peoplefirst #diversity (at Ford World Headquarters) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9VNDYtlSFb/?igshid=1uqjjqs6p9088
