As technology improves, the possibility of space travel and long term living comes closer and closer into view. It's easy to imagine that in your lifetime you might have the option to buy land and live on Mars.
This will likely bring about many daily life changes, but for the interest of this project, let’s consider one in particular - How will this change the way we navigate?
We will start by examining the many functions and uses of Google maps and use it as a platform to develop an app for space. We will then consider the many physical challenges of space travel. Your app should support and address these issues as well as describe the user’s experience.
This project will likely bring up simple questions about space travel and will question the purpose for apps in our culture vs. space culture. UX and UI will need to be considered in a different way then here on gravity filled earth so I encourage you to think outside of the box!
You will design a 5-8 slide demo APP. Using the service, Flinto, we will implement functionality and you will be able to visualize your design for free on a mobile phone.
You will also develop a javascript map using Leaflet.js customized to the APP you create.
We will be using Illustrator, Photoshop, Flinto, Javascript, and Codecademy for this project
Projects should be completed by: Wednesday, May 14, 2014
