I'm good for absolutely nothing but drawing angsty art of my ocs. Apparently.
Alternatively, this update fucked me up and being trapped in between worlds with no body and unable to be with your lover is enough to make anybody cry.
I tried to replicate the arcana style with my baby clementine!
They....... are in love....
Introducing another new mc of mine!!! Their name is Clementine and that handsome raven on their shoulder is their familiar Noct!
Apprentice Week Day 1 & 2: Name and Magic
Clementine | Light Magic
“Please, look at me. Clementine. Clementine.” “Okay, don’t look at me. Breathe. I’m so sorry... I was reckless, I shouldn’t have tried. Clementine, I need you to forget.” “Asra, no, please... Please, not again...” “Forget, Clementine.”
Waiting
a little angsty drabble that was on my mind featuring the fluffy magician boy and my baby clementine.
Dreams always started the same. They were alone in a dark room, the steady drip, drip, drip of water the only thing that broke the silence around them. Then they would hear it, the deep, rumbling thud of a heartbeat. Then they would feel it, a soft touch upon their shoulder, a gentle hand on their waist. It didn’t start as a nightmare, no. it was the sweetest dream they could imagine, nothing could compare to the feeling of familiar arms around them, the feeling of finally being complete… And then the dream would shift. The thump of that heartbeat was racing in their chest, the water drowning, suffocating and filling their lungs, they tried to scream, tried to call out to him but only water filled their mouth-- and then they would wake up. Clementine would sit away in their bed, sobbing quietly into their hands. With the absence of the water, the feeling of being complete also fled. It was fleeting, and left in its wake that gaping hole in their memory, the feeling of something missing, and yet still, there was that heartbeat. The steady rhythm that drummed in their chest. Always the same, always the same. And always when Asra was gone.
Clementine wanted to cry. They had never felt more alone, like there was no one they could lean on, depend on, love. They lay back down, shifting to lay on their side and curl up with their knees to their chest. Shaggy pale pink hair falls in their eyes but they don’t care enough to move it. Baby blue eyes are clouded with tears, clutching their arms around themselves a little bit tighter, like if they hugged themselves tight enough it would go away. But it wouldn’t, it couldn’t. No matter how many times they wanted to cover their ears and scream to over power the empty feeling, no matter how many times they threw themselves recklessly into situations to just feel something again…. It never worked. And all it did was hurt them. Asra worried. Of course he did, he once didn’t leave the house because he was scared that they would get hurt. But Clementine assured him they would be fine, and they were going to keep that promise. In the middle of the night like this all Clementine could do was lay there, sleep an impossibility. So they forced themselves to their feet, making their way slowly to the bathroom and shutting the door behind them. They drew a bath, the steam slowly filling the room. The stripped down to nothing, staring blankly at the image reflected in the mirror…. A body too thin, hips too narrow. Scars of all shapes in sizes littering their skin, and then… the disgusting monstrosity that cuts across their throat, the deeper gouge across their lips. Clementine looks away, clenching their fists at their sides and shutting their eyes. They were not going to get into that mindset, not tonight. They cover the mirror with a towel before they slip into the bath, submerging themselves under the water to wet their hair, brushing the wet locks back when they resurface. They sit there, not sure for how long, but by the time they have cleaned themselves and get out, the sun is beginning to peer over the horizon. They are getting dressed when they hear the door to the shop open, the bell above the door chiming softly. Clementine hears Noct coo softly from downstairs, smiling for the first time since they woke. Asra was home. They dress quickly, not bothering to finish drying their hair before they are heading down the stairs, a warm, relieved feeling spreading through their chest when their gaze settles on him. He looks tired, like he hadn’t been sleeping, and that scares them. Asra’s gaze flickers to them and there is a brief silence between them where they just stare. Then Clementine is moving, almost running until they are toe to toe with him. They throw their arms around him, holding him as close as possible, breathing in the smell of him-- the smell that reminded them of home. They may live at the shop, but Asra was their home. Asra’s arms encircle them, a soft laugh rumbling from his chest as he spins them around, holding them to his chest. Clementine can’t help but smile too, pressing their hand to his chest and signing “welcome home.” Asra smiles, taking their hand in his and kissing it. “And what a welcome it is.” Clementine can ignore the twinge in their chest, the painful feeling of something missing because when asra is beside them he’s all they need. Even if the faraway look he gets when he thinks they aren’t looking hurts, because they know they are missing something important… It’s enough to just have him with them, they don’t need to know everything… not now, at least.
