@bastart13 I recall an ask you answered recently where you discussed how ticklish your OCs are and you mentioned that Tashi is ticklish and that tickling him comes with risks. Does Laurel choose death or not when it comes to tickling him?
I’ve spent the last month trying to write something between grad school things (there is so many grad school things)
Please enjoy this thing I wrote with Laurel and Tashi
"Be out in a moment!"
Tashi heard the bell to his shop jingle as he pulled a few bolts of fabric into his lap
"Tashi? Where you at?"
Laurel's head peeked around the corner and she smiled brightly at him.
"Hey handsome...you need a hand?"
She leaned down observing the fabrics in his lap, making a mock face in disgust
"Oh wow who thought these colors would work? Thank goodness I’m here with my excellent taste"
Tashi turned his nose up at her "Sure are mouthy for someone who regularly models what I make, maybe I should find a new model?"
Laurel pouted "Hey now don't be hasty!"
Tashi chuckled lightly "Well if you're going to be helpful now you mind grabbing that brown basket?"
Laurel reached up to grab the basket, squeaking when Tashi pat her butt gently as he rolled past.
She followed him out setting the basket down on his cutting table, leaning over when Ann's head poked out from her spot under a pile of discarded fabrics.
She padded over to Laurel, trodding over her boots.
"Oh Tashi look! She's so close! Do you think she'd let me pet her?!"
Tashi looked up from the pattern he was tracing "Perhaps....her treats are over there..don't pout too bad if she doesn't let you.....she's just a little shy."
Laurel waved him off "Yeah yeah.....she's gonna love me soon I just know it."
Tashi watched her from the corner of his eye. She'd tried for the last few months to get on Ann's good side, but she had been a little distant.
Laurel opened her palm, sitting quietly as Ann approached her. She nosed about the treats in her hand before she stuck her tongue out.
She stifled a giggle and Tashi grinned "Ticklish?"
Laurel laughed again "Maybe...."
She sat in silence before Ann tentatively crawled into her lap, attempting to find more snacks.
"Ah! She's here!"
At that Ann scurried off Laurel's lap.
"Shoot......I got too excited again...."
Tashi laughed, pinning a pattern to the fabric spread over his table "You are quite excitable, she's not used to it, this is a calming space "
Laurel rolled her eyes, looking over the shop, in random corners Tashi's organization fell to the wayside.
After a few more minutes of trying to coax the little pangolin out she finally relented.
"You never answered my question....are you ticklish?"
Laurel leaned against the wall behind him, watching his shoulders lift and bend as he cut around the fabric.
"Why do you want to know.....are you "
"Of course I'm not...."
She caught the slightest lift in his intonation and she raised a brow. "Well....I am....in the right circumstance...and I think you're a liar..."
Tashi paused for just a second too long before continuing to cut out the fabric. Laurel came to stand next to him, watching as he carefully cut.
Tashi felt her eyes on him and he pointedly ignored her, trying to ignore the heat that he felt on his neck.
"Tashi...."
A shiver ran down his spine at her voice, a soft whisper, it was the tone she used to get under his skin.
She leaned over into his periphery and he stopped cutting the fabric. She grinned "You are ticklish .. and you hate being tickled."
Tashi snorted softly "Perhaps, if you want to find out do so at your own risk."
Laurel laughed, giving his bicep a gentle squeeze "While I have a list of things for your arms and hands to do to me....punching me is not on that list...I'll just take your word on it."
With that she leaned in closer, breath warm on his cheek "I'll let you get back to work......can I see you later...?"
Tashi turned his head slightly, one hand reaching up to stroke her cheek "I don't know....I'm very busy...but I think I can squeeze you in for dinner....."
Laurel rolled her eyes "Lucky me..." With that she leaned in, removing the space between them. Her hand came to rest on his throat and she grinned when she felt him squeeze her arm. Reluctantly they pulled away and Laurel grinned "See ya later....."
With that she made her way to the door, waving as the bell jingled at her departure. Tashi sighed slightly before returning to his work, there was a lot to get done before she came back.
Final from my previous batch of commissions, @bastart13's Tashi and Ann.
It's such an honour being able to do a commission for one of my favourite artists 🥰💕✨ Thank you so much for your support and patience through my endless delays, it's been a very rough time 😔
I'm about to start school and I had to drop this before I lose all my free time.
I have no excuse for this, but the inherent trust placed on someone who has something sharp near your skin is just....*chefs kiss* perfect.
Featuring Laurel and @bastart13 Tashi (hi I love them so much)
Tashi wheeled himself through the door of Laurel's shop.
He was surprised she asked him over for help cutting her hair. He knew she kept a strict shaving schedule for her hair and she seemed to prefer to do it herself.
"Oh hey!"
Her voice drifted from her upstairs room. He could smell hibiscus tea, freshly brewed.
Faye trotted down the stairs promptly sitting at his feet. Tashi reached out to give her a scratch under her chin. She blinked at him slowly once before returning upstairs.
Laurel had informed him that when she slow blinks it's a sign of trust. He couldn't help feeling lucky when Faye would give him slow blinks, even if she still sometimes skittered away from his touch.
Laurel came down the stairs, tray balanced in one hand. She was dressed in an oversized tunic and bare feet. Tashi appreciated the amount of leg he could see from this change in her usual outfits
She grinned at him, leaning over to peck his cheek.
"Thanks for the help, I don't know what I did to my shoulder, but I cannot twist around to get the back of my head."
Tashi grinned "Happy to help, your scalp is safe with me."
Laurel laughed, gesturing to the back room where she did card readings.
She sat on a short stool and pulled out her blade. Tashi watched as she began to shave her scalp. Her movements were sure and practiced as she removed the hair from the front of her head.
After a few moments she handed Tashi the blade, gesturing to the back of her head.
"Ready?"
Tashi paused then, his hand resting on the base of her neck as he surveyed her skin. At this angle he could see the gentle rise and fall of her body with each breath. She had a few freckles dotting her neck and shoulders.
He leaned forward and pressed a kiss to the base of her neck. He felt her freeze, before she sighed softly.
"oh..."
Tashi grinned. He had discovered completely by accident how Laurel practically melted when he kissed her here.
"Just enjoying the view...."
"You could always enjoy it after my head is shaved....I'm looking a bit like I've got mange."
Tashi laughed "Right..."
He followed her instructions, he was actually a little nervous, though he'd never admit it. It wasn't like fabric, he could easily stitch up an improper cut of fabric, fixing cuts on skin was not his expertise.
Laurel shifted slightly "You okay?"
He swallowed hard "Oh yes. Just being careful."
Laurel held still as he worked.
He was almost done when he nicked her scalp.
"Fuck!"
He startled, apologies pouring out "Shit are you okay!?"
Laurel smiled gently, handing him a towel.
"It's okay, trust me I've almost sliced my own ear off when I first started doing it."
Tashi pressed against the cut, trying to slow his heartbeat.
Laurel reached for his hand giving him a gentle squeeze. "Hey it's okay, occupational hazard of being my barber."
"Laurel it's not funny."
"I told you it's not a big deal..."
He muttered under his breath and Laurel ignored his grumbling.
He lifted the towel and the cut had mostly stopped bleeding.
Laurel turned around to face him, fixing him with a look "I'm not angry with you, genuinely it's a hazard of shaving my hair and I have cut myself when I do it alone. It just means I need to take my time, I get hasty."
Tashi looked unconvinced, and a little pale.
"Hey look..."
Tashi watched as lavender light escaped her palm and she held it to the cut. After a few moments she pulled her hand away, revealing a freshly healed cut.
Tashi reached up to gently stroke over the skin and then tilted her head up.
"Even if it's not a big deal I'm sorry."
Laurel smiled at him before leaning in to kiss him.
"Thanks for helping....now stop apologizing...I think you missed a spot."
Tashi eyed the last bit of hair on her head before eyeing the razor "Still trust me?"
Laurel kissed him again "With my life...and my scalp."
Tashi was able to finish shaving off the last bit of her hair. No further injuries to her scalp.
As he got ready to leave, thunder rumbled outside before a downpour was released from the sky.
Tashi eyed the rain before Laurel squeezed his shoulder "You can stay....the card table room has a futon."
Tashi raised a brow "Oh a futon.."
Laurel eyed him, leaning over bracing herself against the arms of his chair. "What's that supposed to mean?"
They stared at each other for a few moments before devolving into laughter.
Tashi caught her chin, kissing her. "Am I sleeping alone?"
Laurel blushed slightly "Can I be little spoon?"
He laughed "I was going to ask the same thing."
Laurel grinned, kissing him again "Fight ya for the right to be little spoon."
Tashi smirked at her "Don't let my chair lull you into a false sense of security....."
Laurel ran a finger up his arm leaning into his ear "Oh trust me sweet Tashi....I intend to figure out how strong you are."
With that she stood up, winking at him "I'll grab a few things upstairs. Just push the table all the way to the left and the futon just pulls out."
Tashi flushed as he watched her go up the stairs. He was able to easily move the table and got the futon flat.
Laurel came into the card room, her arms full of pillows and blankets.
She laid out everything and looked over at Tashi "Do you want me to help you...or would you prefer to do it alone."
He waved her off "Give me a few minutes."
When Laurel returned after 10 minutes. Tashi settled against the wall. Laurel couldn't help noticing he had removed his shirt and she couldn't help staring.
Tashi grinned, running his hand through his hair, one of his muscular arms framing his face as he stretched "You going to stare all night or what?"
Laurel blinked, flushing pink "Has anyone told you that you are distractingly handsome?"
Tashi posed, puffing out his chest "It's a shame to be so handsome."
Laurel laughed, crawling in next to him "Oh the burden you must bare, you're so strong."
Tashi pretended to wipe a tear "Don't tease, it's very difficult."
Laurel smirked before throwing a leg over his waist, her hips making contact with his.
Her hands found his, lacing her fingers with his as she leaned in close to him, her breath on his lips "Poor Tashi."
Tashi tried to ignore the rush of his blood in his ears. Laurel brushed her nose to his "Tashi...."
Suddenly she was on her back, she was probably distracted (yeah she was). She realized her hands were caught over her head in one of Tashi's, his other hand holding her chin.
He kissed her, hard. His tongue brushing against her lip. Laurel whined against him and he relented, freeing her hands. One hand settled on his chest, her other one around his shoulders.
After a few moments they pulled away, their breathing heavy. When his lips found the pulse of her neck she squirmed under him, back arching, sighing out his name. He was tempted to push her further but the feeling of her heart racing against his touch was enough for now.
Tashi rolled off of her and she settled on her side, stroking his cheek.
"You okay?"
Tashi smiled gently "You drive me absolutely nuts...yes I'm okay."
Laurel gazed at him with half hooded eyes, cheeks and neck flushed pink “You do that again I might think you like me....”
She laughed when he made a face “Oh absolutely not, you know I am married to my work and also I’m very busy, but if I did like you, it means my taste is excellent.”
When she laughed at his comment, he couldn’t help the question that bubbled up “How long have you been doing that to your hair?”
They spoke late into the night, the rain outside the background to their hushed words.
Later that night, Tashi watched her sleep as he eyed the cut he left on her head. The mark pale pink against her skin. He kissed the spot and she snuggled closer to him, sighing as she relaxed back into sleep.
When he awoke the next morning, he was alone. A note left on her pillow.
"Out to grab breakfast, be back soon. Hope you like pumpkin bread."
She had doodled a little heart next to her name and Tashi ignored how that stupid little heart gave him a flutter in his chest.
With that he got himself out of bed and awaited her return. Or at least he would....once he got Faye out of his chair.
Also featuring: Faye, Laurel’s snow leopard familiar and Tashi’s pangolin familiar, Anne
Laurel brought Tashi a gift
Laurel scratched behind Faye’s ears. Tashi had invited her to his shop after he closed up for the evening. He had said she could bring Faye.
Laurel adjusted her hip bag eyeing Faye "Okay so Anne is very cute but a little shy....don't crowd her."
"I never crowd"
Laurel rolled her eyes "You absolutely do crowd, do you recall that time Asra came home and you knocked him over, he almost broke his wrist catching himself."
Faye somehow managed to look bored by the whole conversation "I will be a model guest."
Laurel sighed and gently knocked. A few seconds later the door swinging open.
Laurel couldn't help the huge grin when she saw Tashi. His hair was slightly messy, as he focused on delicate beading on a top.
Anne scurried away from the door, hiding under a fabric pile near him. Faye stepped through the door, promptly plopping herself in a fading beam of light.
"Faye?! Don’t be rude"
Faye simply rolled over, revealing her belly, small fangs visible in her mouth.
Tashi laughed slightly, rolling over to them "She must get her manners from you."
Laurel flushed brightly "I'm not that rude....Faye!"
She gently shoved Faye with her foot and the lazy little snow leopard sat up, eyeing Tashi.
Tashi held out his hand to her, patiently waiting.
Faye eyed him suspiciously, before gently pressing her nose to his palm.
"Sorry...she's...."
"She's like Anne in that way, its okay, come over here I want to show you the gown I've been working on."
Laurel smiled following Tashi to his work table. Black fabric overflowing on the table. Laurel tilted her head side to side, the fabric appearing to shift from black to blue to red.
"Oh this fabric is amazing!"
Tashi smirked slightly "Knew you'd love this fabric, the buyer I guess needs something that blends two kingdoms together, I figured a magically shifting fabric would help."
Laurel reached down to touch the fabric before pausing "Can I....touch it..?"
Tashi pointed to a bowel behind him "Wash your hands, this fabric can stain really easily, and frankly enchanting it for stains is tedious."
Laurel nodded, washing her hands before returning to the table, taking the silken fabric in her fingers.
"Oh wow...this fabric is so light, but it looks like it would be heavy considering how tight the threads are."
"You'd be surprised how strange fabric can be, Vesuvia is a great place to find unique fabrics, so many ships travel through here."
Laurel leaned over the table.more, the beading on the sleeves catching her eye. "How do you keep your focus? This looks so incredibly tedious."
Tashi laughed "When you are driven by passion for beautiful things it's easy to find the focus."
Laurel felt a small shiver of shame, thinking back to her cluttered shop, her less than pristine labeling system and her subpar sewing skills. She faltered for a moment before swallowing hard "I uh....I made you something...."
Tashi looked over at her, brows raised slightly "Give it here. Let me see."
Laurel reached into her pocket, pulling out a beautifully wrapped square, handing it to Tashi. He pat a stool nearby as he began to unwrap the delicate paper, Laurel plopping down next to him.
"It's nothing much, if you hate it, or whatever it's fine I..."
She paused when a finger pressed to her lips "Be quiet would you. Don't undermine yourself, it's not cute."
Laurel avoided his gaze, face hot as she waited for his response.
Tashi pulled out a...napkin? Hankie? He wasn't sure but he noticed it was made of a delicate linen and was embroidered with flowers.
"It's uh....."
"I'm sorry it's bad I don't..."
"Shush, it's not great, but did you do this embroidery?"
Laurel nodded, her eyes shyly meeting his.
Tashi faced her, pulling her hands out of her lap "Okay so it's not....great work but...you have a good sense of shapes and you picked good colors, they look nice together."
Laurel nodded slightly "Um...any tips to do better next time?"
Tashi looked over the fabric before nodding "I'm not the best embroiderer myself, but this fabric is too delicate for thread this thick, next time pick something with a heavier weave, it will help you keep your shape."
Laurel listened, leaning in closer as he spoke.
When Tashi lifted his head to look at her, they realized how close they were, he could count the freckles on her cheeks.
"Oh uh...sorry, invading your personal space."
Laurel made a move back, but he gently grabbed her hand "You don't always have to run away when you get close to me."
Laurel blushed "Oh jeez it's not! Oh shoot not that's not it. I just have a bad habit of getting too into people's space, makes people uncomfortable so I tend too try to make space if I realize I'm too close...."
Tashi rubbed his thumb over her knuckles "When did I ever say you make me uncomfortable getting close?"
"Oh I just...I always do it so I just assume people want space...from me....."
Tashi gently pulled her back into his orbit "Don't pull away unless you want too....you know I'll tell you exactly what's wrong if I'm bothered....for example your fern leaf here is very lumpy, what happened to it?"
Laurel laughed, grinning widely "I think I was getting tired but I wanted to finish..."
Tashi sighed "You rush somethings and drag your feet in others."
He fixed her with a look and Laurel blushed again "Uh...I..."
Tashi startled slightly when Laurel's face moved closer, her nose brushing his "This dragging my feet..."
She caught the softest sigh from him before closing the gap between them.
She laced her fingers with his pulling him a little closer. She pulled away after a few moments, grinning at him.
"Okay yeah...that's good..."
"No more accusing me of dragging my feet?"
Tashi grinned, rubbing his face against her cheek. She squeaked "Tashi! Your face is so scratchy!"
"No more accusing you of dragging your feet and this is me formally telling you that it's okay to invade my space....as long as I'm not like..super busy..."
Laurel smiled, kissing his cheek "So never because you are always busy."
Tashi looked offended "I am not always busy....just mostly busy..."
Laurel laugh "Right...mostly busy..."
Tashi grinned "Well...get better at this" holding up her gift "and maybe you can help me make something..."
Lacing her fingers with his. She appeared to be thinking "That seems like a lot of work...."
"Oh hush."
Laurel laughed "Okay fine....."
Tashi was about to say something when he looked over Laurel's shoulder. Laurel turned to look, finding Anne and Faye sitting together staring at them.
Laurel sighed "I believe that's my cue...Faye does like her beauty rest...."
Tashi smiled as Anne crawled into his lap, following them to the door.
"You know...I do have a spare couch....in the fabric room..you can always stay.."
Laurel smiled softly "Faye has a hard time with new places.....maybe next time?"
Her hand threaded through his hair, untangling a few strands. Tashi sighed as she worked his scalp.
"Oh I didn't know you could do that....."
Laurel blushed "Oh hush."
Tashi winked at her "You are too easy to catch off guard...it's fun."
With that she stepped into the cool night air. Faye gave Tashi a nod before following behind her.
"Thanks for showing me your new gown. The buyer is going to love it....you did beautiful work like always."
"Thank you for taking an interest in my work....and for my gift."
Laurel leaned down, kissing him again. Tashi grinned against her before yanking her into his lap. Laurel flailed for a moment “Tashi!!!”
He gave her a shit-eating grin and Laurel huffed “Oh you! I’ll break your chair.”
Tashi wrapped one arm around her waist “You think I’d have a chair that could break so easily?” He winked at her and she couldn’t help rolling her eyes at his comments.
“Dinner this week? I still owe you for when you took me out last time.”
Laurel smiled “You know.....I’m happy to just come see you.”
Tashi kissed her knuckles “While I have no doubt I am a beacon of enjoyment, I would like to show you my favorite dinner spot.”
“Fair, sure, I can do in 2 nights?”
“It’s a date.”
Tashi helped her off his lap, waving her and Faye from his step, watching them until the disappeared down the street.
Laurel hummed to herself as she and Faye made their way back to the shop.
“He is.....acceptable.”
“That’s high praise coming from you..”
Faye rubbed against Laurel’s legs as they waited for a cart to pass on the street. Laurel leaned down, picking up Faye like she was a baby.
“Who is a pretty girl? Who is my pretty girl? Who is a good girl?”
Faye ignored her, but Laurel could feel a low purr rumbling against her arms.
“It’s not so bad to meet new people right...?”
“Like I said, he is acceptable...and Anne is very nice.”
Because I think drinking together can be fun in the right company.
Laurel x Tashi because this is my blog and if I want to write self indulgent stuff I can.
CW: Drinking, some innuendo, my terrible sentence structure/grammer/etc.
Okay I’m done borrowing Tashi for now @bastart13 :P
The Raven was especially rowdy on a rainy evening.
He had surprised Laurel to go out, insisting she get out of her shop and spend time with other people besides her shop customers.
Laurel had seemed somewhat resistant but he insisted it would be fun and frankly.....she had a hard time resisting him when he pulled out his puppy dog eyes.
They chatted on their way to the Raven, she had several interesting customers, some unnerving card reads. He was finishing up a new collection for the upcoming party season.
The bar was fairly full when they arrived and they found a small table in the back. That's when Tashi poked the bear so to speak.
"I take it you don't drink much?"
Laurel shook her head "Oh I can pack it away when I want too..."
Tashi looked unconvinced "I never see you drink anything but hibiscus tea and water."
"I only drink in excess when I feel safe in my company." She smiled at him and Tashi grinned.
"What about you?"
He paused, eyeing the pint in front of him, "I had an accident while drinking...but I still like it."
Laurel nodded in understanding. He liked that about her, she read between the lines and knew when to push and when to let the conversation fall.
"Well...let's have a fun night...because after this I'll need to hide out for a month."
Tashi laughed "Meanwhile I'll try to drag you out again tomorrow."
"Don't hold your breath."
Tashi laughed again, draining out his glass "Let's see how much fun you are."
It was midnight and while they both had consumed a fair number of drinks, Laurel was a bit worse for wear than Tashi. He practically choked on his drink when Laurel ended up on a table.
It was fun seeing her like this. Normally controlled in her words and actions, she was slouching at the bar, talking and laughing so loudly other patrons would turn to look at her.
Drunk Laurel danced on tables, they played a few rounds of poker (she lost) and was friends with the whole bar.
She was also dropping every sappy one liner and dirty joke she knew, much to Tashi's delight. Laurel usually blushed at any innuendo he made, but now she's the one making him blush.
Laurel swayed over to him, plopping down onto a stool.
She leaned over slightly and gave him a goofy grin.
"Did you know you are v...v..verrrrrrry pretty."
Tashi smirked "You've told me that at least 5 times tonight...but I do love hearing it..it's very true."
Laurel grinned "Bet you'd look prettier under me...."
Tashi flustered "Lau-Laurel!"
She winked at him and Tashi had to ignore the warmth in his gut, muttering under his breath "Tease..."
Laurel leaned over, her breath tickling his cheek "Can I kiss you?"
Tashi looked over at her raising a brow "Since when do you ask? I thought we were beyond that..."
Laurel smiled gently "Sheems like a polite thing...maybe you don't want alcohol breath."
Tashi laughed and reached around her waist, pulling her to him, brushing his nose to hers.
"I appreciate the concern, but it's fine.."
Laurel grinned kissing him. Tashi was about to pull her closer when the sounds of breaking glass caught their attention.
He felt Laurel pull him a little closer, a few patrons having a discussion over a poker match and they were getting a bit overzealous. But Tashi could sense the tension in the room growing.
Laurel sensed it too, standing up and placing herself between him and the growing cluster of drunkenly shouting patrons.
She looked over at him, brushing his hair off his forehead "Hey let's get out of here."
Tashi was about to speak when someone stumbled into Laurel, almost toppling her back.
She caught herself against the wall and shoved the patron off of her with her foot.
"Tashi let's go...."
"Laurel....?"
"Please let's go...."
Tashi nodded, wheeling himself towards the door, he could sense her growing unease with the group.
Outside the Raven it was raining, but Laurel seemed to ease. Her shoulders relaxing.
She stuck her hand out from the overhang of the bar, rainwater catching in her palm.
"I always liked the rain..."
Tashi watched her "Rain ruins clothes."
She laughed, looking over her shoulder at him "I was going to offer to dry you off when we got back to your shop."
With that Laurel stepped into the downpour, tilting her head back, running her hands over her head. She spun around, spraying him with water droplets.
"Hey!"
Laurel took a few steps toward him, leaning over to dry the drops on his pants.
"Good as new...."
Tashi looked at his dry pants then back at her “Why did you want to get out so fast?”
She looked at her nails for a minute “I prefer to avoid confrontation when possible....”
Tashi could sense her unease at the topic “Ah....”
They looked out at the rain before Tashi sighed “I doubt this will stop anytime soon.....”
Laurel grinned at him “You won’t melt, promise.”
Tashi looked unconvinced but they made their way through the empty streets of Vesuvia and back to his shop. Stopping under overhangs, and laughing at each other’s wet faces. Tashi cursed her for still looking cute soaking wet, while he felt like a wet dog.
By the time they made it to his shop, the rain had lessened slightly, but they were soaked, Laurel’s boots squelching as she shook off in his doorway, before opening the shop door. She found his towels as he wheeled himself in, and with some difficulty, pulled off her boots, leaving them by the door, leaving small puddles from her dripping clothes
She stood in front of him and pointed to his shirt.
"Off."
Tashi complied, blushing slightly as she dried his hair. "Oh you’re gonna boss me around..? And after you dripped all over my floor
Laurel grinned "My fault I’ll get that. Now let me help."
Normally Tashi preferred to do everything on his own, but he could feel the alcohol in his system in spite of the rain and her hands were surprisingly warm against his skin.
"Just..take your time.."
"Anything for you love...."
Tashi ignored the pet name, he wasn't sure she realized what she said, but he kind of liked it.
She kneeled down in front of him, as she dried his chest. She tried to ignore how his skin felt against her hands. But her motions got slower as she got distracted by a stray water drop rolling down his chest.
Stop starting it’s rude, stop staring it’s rude.
“You gonna stare all night?” Tashi’s voice drew her attention and she blushed brightly.
"Sorry, well....your pants are soaked.....and while the thought of taking your pants off is fun....hadn't really intended to do it this early" she was teasing him.
Tashi grabbed her arm "I'll need help.....wet pants aren’t exactly easy to get off."
Laurel nodded and followed his instructions, helping him get dried and settled into bed. Once he was comfortable he caught her shiver.
"You'll freeze in those clothes.....get dried off...."
He politely ignored her as she got undressed before he felt her weight on the side of his bed.
She reached over to lace her fingers with his "I had fun.....thanks for dragging me out...."
He gently tugged her hand, guiding her next to him. "Thanks for coming along, I prefer good company when I drink."
With that he turned on his side facing Laurel. She grinned at him, pulling his blanket up to their chins.
"You know Tashi....I...really like you...and I hope you like spending time with me as I do with you."
She dropped her gaze, suddenly very interested in the stitching of his blanket.
He caught her gaze again when he pressed his forehead to hers.
"I had fun...even if I had to get wet. But don't think I want to do that again any time soon, but I'll spend time with you in less wet ways...."
He paused then before smirking at her and he caught the smirk on her face "What? You didn't like getting wet with me?"
He felt his face heat and she winked at him "You are so easy...."
Tashi huffed before his hands found the sides of her face. "You are so irritating."
Laurel looked unbothered "It's a special skill of mine."
She brushed her nose with his, and pressed a feather light kiss to his lips.
Laurel slapped a hand over her face "Oh my gods....that's why I don't drink, I just blurt out everything."
Tashi laughed "It was fun, you were fun....I do have one question....since when did we start using pet names....love..."
Laurel flushed bright red "I uh....sorry."
"Frankly of you were going to give me a pet name..I'd like something that sounds more fancy like.... Your highness, my king, uh....most cherished one."
He laughed when Laurel chucked a pillow at him.
"You have terrible taste in pet names....all your good ideas must go into your outfits and if you don't want me to call you that I can stop.."
He reached for her shoulder, making her lay back, her head in his lap. "I didn't say I didn't like it...but what can I call you? Babe? Baby? Goddess?"
Laurel made a face and he laughed again "How about dear? Sweetheart?"
"Closer but not quite."
"Picky picky. I'll find a good one."
Laurel grinned up at him "Want to go get breakfast?"
He nodded, leaning down to kiss her forehead. "Of course.....love."
I just had this thought, but what animal/animals do you see your main apprentices being? (You can pick multiple if you want).
Also what do you imagine their voices sound like?
Animals, hm... I'm not sure I associate them with any particular animals. I can see Isha being a rottweiler like their pet. Maybe a particularly chill one. Tashi could be a preening or constructive bird, or a flashy fish. Then Abosede is either a large, colourful bird or a giraffe. She has unbothered large herbivore energy.
As for their voices, Isha has an androgynous, calm voice that doesn't rise or fall much in tone. Tashi is loud and very expressive with an odd blend of well-spoken and harsh tone. Abosede's voice is light and airy. Like Isha's, she's mostly calm when she speaks, but when excited, her voice pitches and she goes a mile a minute.
Are Isha, Tashi, or Abosede ticklish if so could we maybe get some info and some wholesome headcannons?
Isha is almost freakishly not ticklish. They just have no reaction to the point it gets awkward
Tashi is the opposite. He is incredibly ticklish but he will also fucking punch anyone who tries to tickle him. Anyone who tries will get a broken nose
Abosede is that adorable sweet spot where she's ticklish and will just giggle it off and try to tickle you back. No broken noses to be found
What kind of colors do you associate with your fan apprentices? And what's their elemental motifs/symbolism? (Or just symbolism in general).
Also! What's your fan apprentices body types? What shapes do you normally use when drawing them?
Isha: Sunsets, fire, and magic. Warm, but dark colours with a contrast of green and white. I give them a lot of natural and celestial symbolism, with stars and sunlight patterns. I also reference Indian and Pakistani art to stylise the patterns. They have a broad, overweight, pear-shaped body with wide shoulders and wider hips, with thick thighs. I use a lot of rounded square shapes in their body, face, and clothing, with loose curls or draping fabric as a contrast.
Tashi: Marble, gold, ocean, and luxury. Cool colours combined with white and gold. Blue and turquoise are his main colours, but I'll branch out into green and purple. His fashion style is inspired by Tibetan art and haute couture. He is muscular and stocky with a broad chest/shoulders and thick arms, and a comparatively thinner lower-half. Again, I use a lot of squares when drawing Tashi, but in contrast to Isha, he's angled, not soft. I use a lot of overlapping circles and sharp edges for his hair and outfits.
Abosede: Bright nature, tropical plants and birds. Bright, saturated colours together to play off her dark skin with lots of yellows and greens, but she'll rarely stick to a single colour. I take inspiration from forest imagery and birds of paradise for her outfits (feathers, branches, and petals). She is very tall and slender, with few curves which is highlighted by wearing long, draping skirts with straight sleeves. I use long, loose lines to draw her body/clothing, contrasting with the short curves of her facial features.
