One little thing pisses me off, though.
In Washington, we legalized marijuana last night by a decent margin. People EVERYWHERE voted yes on that. It was pretty clear.
But equal marriage is BARELY squeaking by with 51.6% of the vote.

We eagerly legalize weed but have a hard time legalizing love?
It looks like I will be able to get married in my home state. I'm bawling.
Today I voted for marriage equality to the tune of Macklemore's "Same Love" playing in Red Square.
I haven't said much about it, but I really really dig living in a liberal city on a super liberal college campus.
I feel really happy and accomplished today. So that's good.

Mailed my ballot to Florida ages ago. Which is getting pretty hilarious, by the way, because every time an election rolls around, I'm in a different corner of the world. I'm forever voting in Florida. And yet I've never actually voted in Florida. Good grief. But, to those kind and wonderful Washingtonians around me who DO happen to vote in this beautiful state - I think it would be really lovely of you to approve referendum 74 tomorrow, and I only wish I could help you do it. ♥

Marriage equality is extremely important to me and one of the greatest, emotional life struggles I will ever face; that is why strong support for the LGBT community like Macklemore's "Same Love" brings me to tears.
I am immensely grateful for people like Macklemore who are helping make such a strong impact on the Approve Referendum 74 movement. When he released this song back in July, I was deeply moved. This video only makes the message more beautiful.
Thank you to Macklemore, Mary Lambert, Ryan Lewis and everyone who is fighting for marriage equality; it really means a lot.
