23 January 2025, Thailand (my country), as the first South East Asia country, just fully legalized Equal Marriage Bills making LGBTQIAN+ finally can get married with all the same rights as het couples. Also there are changes in the official document to use ‘person’ and ‘person’ instead of man and woman which applies in all cases!

About marriage in Spain:

Spain has no “homosexual” marriage. It is gender-free civil marriage between two people. Simple as that.

The Spanish civil code had been changed some years before to erase any difference between men and women. The 2005 reform just changed man/woman for “person” and husband/wife for “spouse”. It was so simple!

It gave a huge boost to LGBT rights because for many people we just became “normal”. The level of acceptance is among the highest in the world.

It seems that many people believe that Joe Biden is responsible for the rise in the cost of living. Today would have been the 75th birthday of Filipino-American activist Richard Adams (right).

Richard married his Australian partner Tony Sullivan (left) in 1975, with a marriage licence granted by a Clela Rorex, a County Clerk in Boulder, Colorado. When the Immigration and Naturalisation Service denied Tony’s application for permanent residency as Richard’s spouse, Richard became the first person in America to file a lawsuit seeking federal recognition of same-sex marriage.

The couple’s marriage was finally federally recognised in 2016, four years after Richard’s death.
