poem that has the vibe of this sentence : a hundred sighs filled the sky

What is it called when I separate from my spirit and my body? A hundred sighs fill the sky and I grab a seat, get comfortable. I’m familiar with the height of the ceiling. I know the drill when I end up here. Watch the rise and fall of my chest. Beg God: Place a hand there. Palm on my heart. Enough weight for me to feel it. Tell me why it lifts up again. Tell me when it’ll stop. You’d think death would blow through the air right then and there. But the wind never comes. A heart stopping joke, for sure. But you can’t say I never call on God for the miracle. I do, every night, on the ceiling, fingers itching for an answer. All of heaven has seen it. 

I say that a lot, in every poem about prayer. Angels in a stadium, heaven’s ceiling, since that’s how I see me. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s a vision. An answer all my own while I’m waiting for a better one. I don’t understand who I am but someday, in eternity, I’ll be filled with something greater. Something heard. But for now, my voice will fill the stadium bordered in my mind, just me, an echo, begging for a touch, waiting, wondering, wandering, knowing the drill because yes, here we go, this again, believe, trust, faith in the blindness, such a mess, so lost. How does he see me? I hope it’s not within. I hope he’s as high as he seems to be, touching the clouds, feeling all my prisons without the wreckage to trip over.
