Apr 20 - today sucked. I've been having vision problems - mostly blurring (sometimes accompanied by pain) - in my left eye for a few days now. Also, since my eye has been a little gummy and especially blurry when I first wake up, possibly it's been having a bit of dryness. My original thought, what with it being spring, was allergies leading to sinus inflammation putting pressure on the eye, possibly in combination with the blurriness causing eye muscle soreness as it tries to focus and can't (it's more likely to hurt later in the day). So I started in on a daily antihistamine like I do most springs, plus began using eyedrops a few times a day to moisturize.
The blurriness was especially annoying because it has led to some glare sensitivity. *Shakes fist at anything on her computer that does NOT have a dark mode*
If you're guessing today was different, you'd be right. In early evening I went from a mild ache to who-stuck-an-ice-pick-in-there levels of pain, with so much light sensitivity that I had to go lie down in an entirely darkened room. I could feel my pulse in and/or around the eyeball. Headache from the pain. Runny nose despite the antihistamines, which might have been tearing up from the pain or might be signs of something else going on in the sinus cavity. Eventually in very late evening it eased off enough for me to quickly do a couple of things (like the dishes) and then go to sleep.
Internet tells me there are many possibilities for the cause of the pain and I probably need to go to my doctor and be checked for things like glaucoma or sinusitis etc. Joy.
Supper was hot Italian sausages with home-fried potatoes and sweet potatoes, and steamed mixed veg.
Apr 21 - ...and of course I slept in too late for the limited hours during which the local medical centre accepts phone calls to make appointments. Blargh. The joy of small towns with not enough family practitioners.
Eye has been much better today than yesterday, but I've also been being cautious about not over-straining it, as in going and lying down with my eyes closed any time an ache starts to develop. Also limiting my screen time.
Started on a new crochet project finally - a baby blanket. Very little progress made because stupid aching eye. As in I got the base chain done and am barely into working the second row back along it so far.
Made chickpea curry with basmati rice and steamed cauliflower for supper.
