Never tried a fresh apricot before this week but I could eat them all day. Similar experience to a peach but smaller so it comes with less commitment and is also not as messy because they have less juice.

someone mentioned eating a delicious peach and i realized suddenly that the apricots that i so enjoyed a week or so ago were likely languishing still on the tree
i've mentioned i'm on a see-food diet in that if i don't see it i typically just won't eat it and the apricot tree is out of my normal path here on the land
so i immediately got up to get my apricots and
there's maybe three on the tree
but i scrounged around in the greenery below the tree and found quite a few in various conditions from perfect to half gone
i ate a bunch and froze the rest for later

my little apricot tree gave mini fruit last year, and this year they're maybe ¾ size - but super tasty!
still have a bit of a cronch so they're not quite ripe but i'm having a hard time not eating them all right away
(actually reading that it's a "medium-small fruit" so these may be full size for the tree)
