Round 5 Day 4

Decided to take a break from my homeschool app to work on a new project. Attempting to make a Tarot journal in kivy. I've made one before with flask so I think I know how I want the database set up, but after creating the login/register stuff I realized I wasn't sure how to link tables without flask-sqlalchemy. Will probably try to figure it out in a few days.

In the meantime, I went back to my homeschool app and actually made some progress. I got the quiz page to bring up the information I needed it to, so now I'm onto styling. Which I fucking hate lol. But the app is working how it's supposed to so far, so I'd say it's been a good day progress wise.

Round 5 Day 2

I made it pretty! Pretty ish, at least. I've got a functional login and register page. Now I'm stuck when it comes to creating the quiz page. I want it to just select the current lesson, but I'm not sure the best way to do that. Maybe just add to the user table a current_lesson_id column that updates when a lesson is completed. Actually, yeah that sounds way simpler than what I'd been trying. Will go with that tomorrow.

Back up on my bullshit - Round 5 Day 1

Well, it's been a couple months shy of a year, it's about time I try the #100daysofcode challenge again. Round 4 didn't go so well. And after losing all my projects I hit a bit of a wall. But, I've been spending about an hour a day coding lately anyway, so we'll see how far I make it this time!

First up, a homeschool manager that we can use for the kids lesson planning. The goal is something that tracks their progress through the curriculum, and when you click quiz it will generate some example questions for the lesson they're on and leave room to input their score. Once they've mastered a lesson, the next quiz will move on to the next one. I'd also like a progress bar on the homepage for how far they've gotten through each subject.

Eventually I'd like to make it with Kivy, but I'm still learning how to work with databases with Kivy. I've been spoiled by Flask and Sqlalchemy, and now I want everything to be as simple as table.column when I'm trying to access it, lol.

But I've got a good starting point, and some other project ideas for when I inevitably hit a wall with this one. Wish me luck!
